Was thinking of a B2L on Atsila in the Irish 1000 Guineas today. Won a Mickey Mouse first race and a decent 2nd race, then got supplemented for the Guineas for a fair whack so thought it should have been expected to be placed or better. Trainer was quite fond of her pre-race week and had 2 winners earlier on the card.

Never bothered and I was right, ran an absolutely bog standard race and finished 7/12

Glad it was the owner spending 50 grand supplementing and not me :)

USA meetings at Lone Star and Finger Lakes were available on the Exchange this morning.

Both were removed a few hours before racing commenced, according to Betfair "for liquidity reasons".

Never heard that excuse before, anyone else?

Yeah it's quite typical for them to have a max number of simultaneous US meetings. Being a public holiday over there there are lots of tracks running that wouldn't usually run on a monday. Finger Lakes and Lone Star are usually well down the priority list when lots of bigger tracks are running. They probably set them up without realising the other tracks were on.

Thanks James

I've not seen it before bud and I've been loading all the horse racing markets to Guardian every day for the past 4 years. To say it was for "liquidity" reasons is a new one on me as they are comparable with every other meeting, somewhat more in some cases. Especially so, when the markets were available on their Sportsbook as well :o

It's all strange at the moment on the Exchange with them not uploading some markets for Oz Horse Racing early too. Not withstanding some meetings early doors were different names to the actual race when run and they were late with uploading the Star Pelew dog meeting.

Let's see what happens moving forward.

I'm not really into US racing, so I have never heard of this before.

What markets are not being loaded in Australia? I focus on the main win markets, and my stuff seems to be running normally. I don't do harness racing.

I was posting on the Betfair Errors page originally Peter viewtopic.php?t=29232&start=120

I've been loading the Horse Racing markets every day for 4 years into Guardian for all zones. I do this before 10am and 99% of the time there has been no issue.

All Oz horse race markets have been available too and once I have all the races I export the Guardian data and load them into my spreadsheets and do my whizzy stuff (with Power Query of course :D ).

The other week I noticed some markets in Oz were not available and even waiting until 10pm-11pm they were still not available. I contacted BF Help and they said it was down to the TAB not giving them "fixed odds". I questioned this as the Exchange markets don't need fixed odds to be formulated. They then said it was the Trading Teams decision to not load the Oz races onto Betfair until after midnight.

Like you Peter I only load the Win markets for horse races (I don't do Pace/Trot either as they are definitely not available in the UK until after midnight when we're all tucked up in bed).

I'm not sure when you load your Oz horse races but I did a quick snapshot of the number of meetings that have not been ready to load into Guardian the day before and only this month is it is quite considerable.

Approximately 48 meetings !

* the dates in the table below relate to the day before (i.e. when I load the markets into Guardian)
** I have been regularly checking Guardian AND the website during the day to see if there were any updates and there weren't
*** as an example for tomorrow's meets Gawler and Doomben are not available. Going back 2 weeks ago (and for 4 years prior to that) they would have been

I know Betfair have often seeded the market with small money and a wide spread on the early markets, so they are probably looking to other pricing to be in the ball park.

I'll have to check my bots to see if they are missing anything. I spotted a discrepancy at the start of this month and I wonder if that explains it. I collect data via two different sources and they seemed to be telling me different things.

I use Racing & Sports https://www.racingandsports.com.au/race-day to get some data which I then merge into the exported Guardian data. This is how I noticed some meets were not loaded by BF.

Check to see if your Guardian loaded Albury & Townsville from last night

Pretty common for BF to not cover all available US tracks on busier days. They've said before that they believe there is an optimum max US track coverage for liquidity (for 'liquidity' obviously read 'their profitability').

Less common for them to cancel previously loaded tracks but I have seen it before. I imagine someone loaded all tracks before the trading team realised how many there were and decided to cut a couple back.

So, I've been playing around with the 10 years worth of horse data I've been able to accumulate. Running 2 experimental models looking for value bets, entering on runners where my model probability is less than the BF implied by x%

Last 2 days have been a bit interesting. Not bad given my tiny test stakes :D

Looks like Betfair have pulled the service.

It's been replaced with https://videoplayer.betfair.com/GetPlay ... opup=false where the number represents the market ID.

But the thing I like about the old service was the list of events!

Working ok for me this evening. Direct live racing BFL feeds stopped working for about 15 mins this afternoon, and since the normal video page is back up and running. Perhaps they were updating it all to fix?
