Tennis traders, be aware of the below update from Betfair.

This might mess with some people's automation as it looks like tennis matches will become full of suspensions as markets flip from 3s to 1s and back to 3s at every change of ends.

Tennis Dynamic Delay Testing:-

Hi All,
As we continue to optimise bet delays across the Exchange, today we will start testing “dynamic delays” in tennis whereby the bet delay is reduced from 3 second to 1 seconds during change of ends. Please see logic below.
Every game 3,5,7,9,11 or game which decides a set (potentially 6,8,10,12) – delay is reduced to 1 second
Message used to trigger the delay decrease would be ‘END_GAME or END_SET’
Suspend market > Lapse bets in the delay > Reduce delay > Activate market
Aim is for the process to that <0.5 seconds
At the end of the change of ends the delay will be increased back to 3 seconds
Message used to trigger the delay increase would be ‘Time of Pointstart’
Suspend market > Lapse bets in the delay > Reduce delay > Activate market
Aim is for the process to that <0.5 seconds
Sportradar do not have a time message so delay will have to increase on ‘Pointstart’
Today’s game: 34456494 : Quarter Final Matches / Jodar v Ar GeaOver the next month it will only be the odd game as we test the tech, feeds and logic in production on some low-level tennis. Only when API signposting is available as part of the passive bet delays project will we scale up the testing like we’ve done with passive bet delays. The first phase of API signposting is expected to go live early August.
