Terrible news, shocking.
It hammers home how quickly and unexpectedly life can turn

Tragic news. Seems as both him and his brother lost their lives when his Lambo crashed during an overtake. Sending thoughts and prayers for his wife and children. Just 28. Tragic.

Sickening news to wake up to, his brother was in the car as well... Couldn't believe it either for a few seconds, my brain struggling to process and grasping at straws checking whether it's a cruel April 1st joke or something
Just days ago people were posting his wedding photos on Reddit with his 3 young kids which was probably the best day of his life, after he just won the Nations league and the Prem feeling on top of the world FML

The grace of God covers things like childhood cancer, there's a certain degree of personal responsibly when it comes to the weight of your right foot.Crazyskier wrote: ↑Thu Jul 03, 2025 10:29 amlost their lives when his Lambo crashed during an overtake.

Of course, though I understood that it was a tyre blowout which isn't necessarily related to driving style or speed.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Thu Jul 03, 2025 6:50 pmThe grace of God covers things like childhood cancer, there's a certain degree of personal responsibly when it comes to the weight of your right foot.Crazyskier wrote: ↑Thu Jul 03, 2025 10:29 amlost their lives when his Lambo crashed during an overtake.

Personally, the older I get, and the more friends and associates that pass away, the more in touch with my own mortality I am. As a result, I drive very much like an old man now, especially with precious goods (family) on board.
I drive as though I'm surrounded by idiots. Sadly, I'm too often correct.

RIP Diogo and his brother Andre. I had the pleasure of watching this young man play for 3 wonderful seasons at Molineux and other grounds big (Old Trafford, Wembley) and small (Pirelli Stadium, Griffin Park) around the country bagging 3 memorable hat tricks along the way. Such a sad loss to the world but particularly to his wife, his young family and his heartbroken parents who have lost 2 sons.

Trading morality is a tricky issue, 1000s of greyhounds mysteriously 'die' each year if they're not good enough but we still bet on it. And there's an active market on a nuclear detonation this year over on Polymarket.
But Jota was just a bloke who was good at football, so I don't see why there needs to be a week of national mourning when you can't bet on consequence of what he did.
A bizarre overreaction from Arbitrage.
I was simply pointing out how the markets were reacting to Jota's death.
That happens in finance all the time......a tragedy will effect the markets within an instant.
Shaun is right. Trading morality is a tricky issue, but we all make money from circumstances which leads to price movements
