It's clear the far horse won by a bum-cheek!

I don't know why they didn't just forgo the print and go off the TV pictures. Far side obviously won by a large nose or even a short head.
But clearly the print is a total joke.

I have a question regarding risk and delayed start times.
I've seen PW holding open positions on markets with delayed start times. But recently, I've come to understand that when there are cock ups, such as failing to turn a race inplay, the market is settled by positions held during the original scheduled off time.
So is following the new start times not a huge risk? Especially given how often races fail to turn in play?

It's very rare that a UK&Ire horse race fails to get turned into play. Perhaps once a month on average. It's more common in non-UK&Ire racing, but still unusual, perhaps a handful per week.Crumpets wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 3:14 pmI have a question regarding risk and delayed start times.

When this happens Betfair will usually void any trades matched after the actual off-time, not the scheduled off-time. This is why market settlement is usually delayed, because Betfair have to wait until the official off-time is published from the track.
I swear it's more common than that. Maybe I'm just inflating due to the perceived potential damage!
Sorry James, i should have been more clear. So i meant specifically regarding SP. So using SP as a safety net would be settled at the original scheduled off time? Rather than the new time... if the race had never turned inplay?
Or would they settle SP at the new time? Let's say a 30 minute delay hypothetically.
Also puzzles me how tennis traders are so comfortable opening large positions when an injury can cause the match to end suddenly...and then you're toast. Especially with the checks on big losses etc.

Somebody always will update this thread when a UK&Ire race fails to go in-play. viewtopic.php?t=29232&hilit=errors&start=165Crumpets wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 3:28 pmI swear it's more common than that. Maybe I'm just inflating due to the perceived potential damage!

There's been 9 in the last 12 months:
jan 17th
dec 11th
sep 12th
aug 12th
Jul 12th
Jul 5th
Jun 25th
May 12th
Feb 1st
I don't use SP so not sure how they handle it. My assumption would have been that they calculate it based on the actual off-time rather than the scheduled or rescheduled off-time, but perhaps somebody else who uses SP can confirm either way?
