He was meant to go to Spain last year, but his race programme changed after the Tour with signs of fatigue beginning to show. I reckon he'd have found a way to win the red jersey, anyway, racing more conservatively. Fresh, he wins easily based on what we've seen over the last few years.
Can he win Paris-Roubaix? It's harder to drop the big fellas when the parcours is so flat. You know Pogacar will give it a bloody good go, though. And if he can't ride Van Der Poel off his wheel, it only takes a puncture or a crash at an inopportune moment to make the gap Pogacar needs to win. Maybe we'll see history being made this year - only the fourth rider to win all five monuments.
