I am, as many others, in a situation where I live in country where Betfair does not operate. Friendly accounts got banned.
And now I am on a 2 part mission where I hope I can get help and wisdom from this group here.
Obtaining real Betfair account with API for testing and race recordings only. Minimal betting to keep account active. Need Live API key (need in-play real-life data), so need to pay Betfair 500 for it (robbery!). I am ok to have it under someone else’s name, and willing to compensate, but I ran out of friends in legal countries who can help. And you can’t trust any of those scammy websites that promise you to sell any account to you. So looking for advice, recommendation, suggestion. What do people do? Again, no real money betting, no deposits (other than initial deposit to cover 500 fee and some minimal money on top) and no withdrawals. Active Live-API key is the key here
Obtaining real Betfair account with API key under my name, properly and legally. I am willing to do what’s needed to get residency in one of the still legal Betfair countries. Malta, UK and Ireland are ideal candidates, but all are either expensive or hard to get in. My research ended with Romania as the easiest and cheapest countries to get digital nomad visa, get real status, address, bank account. Betfair is fully licensed there and even has their own domain betfair.ro, and they have access to global liquidity markets (important). My only concern is that Betfair got Romanian 10-year license in 2016, so it should expire this year, and I didn’t find any reliable information if it will be renewed or if they will leave Romania as they did with other countries.
Did anyone have any experience with Romania or any other legal countries where it is not too hard to get a status there to pass Betfair KYC?
Does anyone has any info on Betfair’s plans on Romanian market?
Any knowledgeable advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.
