Expensive 14:58, £399.34 at the maximum on Wendigo
I'd backed the 2 outsiders against the fav couldn't understand why Wendigo's odds were shooting out to 20. I assumed that it was about to drop out. It's odds were still going out at the last jump when it landed in front. just thankful for small mercies.

Just reading up on this. Was alerted by a couple of people about something weird going on at Carlisle. Anybody have any screenshots?

I don't have any matched bets on the Wendigo switch

So Wendigo went off normal ~ 6.00ish odds, then somebody fat finger lays 1000 and it's all gone within first furlong? Maybe another runner refused/fell and they got them mixed up, or just human error?

Surely TPD players got some in the first furlong based on the numbers ?

I'm gonna say human error, didn't notice anything with the horse to justify odds of 1000

Prices remained around the 20 mark as I imagine anyone who caught the price would've been trying to lay off as much as possible and made a chunk

Yeah depends on size though if you got £100 on at 1000, you have about 5K to hedge meaning your size would be way too big for what the IR market can take, you'd be massively -EV on that order, better to let it play out and just hope it lands

Reminds me of shutthefrontdoor AP McCoy for his last grand national. Betfair went down close to off pre-race and it was ultra layside heavy cus everyone was trading B2L and didn't hedge yet, and a few lucky ppl got 1000 back orders as a result lol with many facing disgusting reds on the at the race favourite, API came back on in running but at that stage it was so thin you had no chance of hedging, pretty much just had to watch and pray the ~6/1 shot didn't come in lol. A lot of brown trousers that day no doubt. Has it really been over 11 years since then ? Time flies!
