Hi everybody,
I setup a system Guardian/Excel which lays a horse in certain conditions and it wins or loses the bet. I worked a lot on this and it works ok with UK races which go live and the winner is clear for all to see..
The UK hounds, US horses, Australian horses and hounds all get suspended just before the start.
For my system this wouldn't be a problem if I knew the winner straight after the event like it happens for the UK horses. But unfortunately the only way to know whether I won or lost is to wait for the balance update, sometimes 30 minutes later. But the worst of all this is the sensation of possibly being cheated: what if Betfair didn't pay the winner? with hundreds of events every day and results available 24 hours later how can one defend himself? so, I have two questions:
1) Is it possible that Betfair cheats on this?
2) does anybody know how to get those results in real time? In BA sheets?
A possible suggestion to BA could be to start thinking about giving this great service to us, maybe just an extra column in the Guardian which shows the event's result....
Suspended at start:who won?

The official totalisator results for the relevant event may satify your needs.

If you are betting on UK events, http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/en-gb might help
For Australia, http://www.tab.com.au/default.aspx?State=&State= is a good place to start
For South Africa, http://news.tabonline.co.za/LiveOddsRes ... fault.aspx is a good source of info
And for USA, http://espn.go.com/horse-racing/ is okay for selected meetings (or else Google the track as they often post offical results independantly).
No doubt others have other sites that they prefer, but these suit my purposes.

Elfsborg - Hacken started on Feb 14th 18:00 o'clock.
suspended at about 19:30 on the same day. At the time of my writing this message (15th feb 21:45) it is still suspended and, of course not settled.... I put €50 on the Under 4.5 and still don't know its destiny.
Does anybody know whether that has any meaning?
