I bet Hodgson sat down with Ferdinand and he either refused to play with Terry or, said he would play with him but wouldn't shake his hand etc. If Rio really believes that Terry has racially abused his brother then I suppose you can understand it.

Let's just hope Terry can control himself during the tournament and not cause any more trouble one way or another! Hopefully there's no other divisions within the camp too.

And more than anything let's pray that we don't have to rely on Stuart Downing too much. No offence to the bloke, it's not his fault he's got picked, but he's more Scotland level (if that.) Lennon or Adam Johnson would surely have been a far better choice? With only Walcott and Young (with Ox Chamberlain as promising backup) the only other two wide men it points to me that maybe he'll play with only one proper winger alongside 3 grafters in the midfield, Barry, Milner, with Gerrard providing the creativity.

Yeah, especially if Hodgson plays 2 strikers, which people say has always been his preffered formation at club level. Maybe Gerrard will play up front or at least off of one of those? At his age he can't be expected to get up and down and cover all the ground he used to

So..How far do you think this bonded group of individuals, who are talented and skillful, who exude style and flare will get? :?:

Shall we set up a competition as well?
We select the night before MO, CS and U/O 2.5
2 points for MO, 1 point if you lose your bet @ the 85th minute of the game and on.
1.5 points for U/O 2.5
10 points for CS and 3 points for the closest - 1 goal CS
so if you select 2-0 you get 3 points if the game will end 1-0, 2-1 or 3-0.
Please don't judge me but I love competitions.. :D :D

Ofc all suggestions are more then welcome...the one above is just an example of what I thinking..

disappointed Jagielka didn't make the squad; a better defender than Johnson, Jones and Baines and a better goalkeeper than Rob Green!
In a [Sheff Utd] home match against Arsenal on 30 December 2006, due to a thigh injury to starting goalkeeper Paddy Kenny and with his side 1–0 up, Jagielka was forced to play in goal for the remainder of the match. Arsenal were kept at bay for the remaining thirty-four minutes and Jagielka's late save from Robin van Persie secured the 1–0 victory.
Warnock didn't used to pick a sub keeper because he knew we had Jags in case Kenny got injured.

what's the point of taking 3 keepers for 3-6 games? it's just a waste of a place.

I was hoping Scholes would be in. Without him or Wilshire we've not really got any classy passers. IMO either would have made an enormous difference.

I note the manager is having difficulty picking a viable aquad. perhaps if the rules were changed to allow a quota of foreign players, this might help.

Hi All,

At least there is no real hype to this competion as getting out of the group stage would be an achievement....the ferdinand/terry debacle is best diffused now as this is on the international stage... I feel sorry for Rio but... I am supprized that Crouch was not in the mix as love him or hate him he scores goals for England...
Have to say, looking forward to the tournament and trading the games.

historically have the Euros been a good trading platform with plenty of liquidity?

cheers All groovy :|

agree groovy, Crouch can present sides with problems that others can't and if we're 1 down with 20 mins left against a side with short centre halves then you'd want him on the bench.

with his record, and reasonable form in an average side, he deserves a place.
