So many fallers on the cycling I wonder if they may look at those tight corners.andyfuller wrote:It went to a photo finish and they were able to split them that way, the timing showed the same time though as I don't believe the timing system is able to give a shorter split

Just had a row against the women's single sculls final on my Concept 2 indoor rower, not a clue how the times compare to actual rowing but I know they all train on this type of indoor rower.
The winning time was 7.54.37 with 6th coming in at 8.03.10. I am only just getting back into my rowing so behind my best on it but still managed a 8.32.00 but have managed 07.48.90 in June 2010.
I got all excited thinking wow maybe I could go to Rio!
Then checked the men's times and they won in 06.57.82
Best not give up the day job after all

Top trading tip, buy any stock you can in any sports related company. The country is going to be going sports mad
Got some tickets for the Paralympics just now for the Athletics for myself and my parents. Great to see that the tickets for the Paralympics are also like gold dust.
I have been trying for tickets for the main Olympics for 4 nights now, constantly pressing search every few seconds, so off to Cycling in the morning and Athletics in the afternoon.
Hopefully get a few more events in the next few evenings, enjoy tomorrow Peter, it looks absolutely brilliant in the stadium!

What an amazing night! I am truly inspired.
I don't know wether to get a push bike, a rowing boat or dig a sand pit in my back garden or try and run down the corner shop without having a heart attack. I might try kicking a football against my garage door from 12 yds and see if i can hit it.

Question: What Are Olympic Medals Made Of?
What do you think Olympic medals are made of? Are the gold medals really gold? They used to be solid gold, but now Olympic gold medals are made from something else. Here's a look at the metal composition of Olympic medals and how the medals have changed over time.
Answer: The last Olympic gold medal that was actually made from gold was awarded in 1912. So, if Olympic gold medals aren't gold, then what are they? The specific composition and design of Olympic medals is determined by the host city's organizing committee. However, certain standards must be maintained:
Gold and silver medals are 92.5% silver.
Gold medals must be plated with at least 6 grams of gold.
All Olympic medals must be at least 3 mm thick and at least 60 mm in diameter.
I saw this and I think it's a fair article, unfortunatley money always buys success in sport, directly or indirectly. But it has been a fab games for the GB.
I'm off again to the Olympics today, determined to get value out of the £9bn invested in it!
