Hi

I spent an age writing a detailed post about Dr Red Eye explaining how I couldn't understand the RP comment "conditions to suit" but then I lost the lot. That was my fault so I can only blame myself.

Anyway this horse is by Dr Fong and his progeny generally prefer decent ground. The time of the first race suggests it is pretty soft ground so I am at a loss to see how they can suit this horse.

I have looked at his form and his highest winning mark is 75. He is off 83 today so he's 8lb above his best performance. He's had 30 runs and managed 3 wins so I don't see where the improvement is going to come from? He seems to prefer an easy 7f as his wins at Epsom and Catterick would suggest and whilst he has won over C&D it was on much better ground.

He tends to race close to the pace and looks to kick on around the 2f marker. I am not sure he'll hold on all the way to the line so there are a couple of ways to play this.

1. Back him at the highest price you can get pre-race and then look to trade out when they approach the 2f marker. I cannot give exact prices but I feel a profit is likely as the odds should shrink.

2. Wait for him to approach the 2f marker and then look to lay him at a low price with a view to him struggling to hold on.

Could someone please capture the graph and odds for this race for me? I have yet another medical assessment this afternoon so I may miss the race.

Good luck to all, small stakes and please feel free to comment.

Hey that's great, many thanks to Superfrank, Pdupre1961 and Golfer.

My medical assessment finished just in time so I manage to have a look at the race. Ironically in my original post which I ultimately lost I did mention Nameitwhatyoulike as my choice in the race. The market agreed too but I stuck with my original plan. On this occasion I backed pre-race at 5.70 and set my lay at 2.20 so it ended in profit.

EDIT Thanks to Giulio2010 too, glad you made a profit.

Hi Golfer

Yes, thank you it was fine. I have weekly blood tests and monthly consultant visits to ensure my medication is correct and no nasties are appearing in my system.

All was good and it was quicker than last time.
