Is it buffering or freezing? If you are using the latest version it will warning you if it is buffering. To solve this increase your calls per second to Betfair or reduce the calls you are making.

No its freezing, the reason i say that is because i have a graph up and the time line along the bottom is stopping. Also i have had the task manager up up that was saying "Not responding" while other programs i have running are fine

Grovvy my connections is fine as all other programs running fine - what i have done is do a system restore, going back about a month ago when i know for certain it was working well. So now im in the process of adding the updates one by one. It looks like there are a few updates to .Netframework 3.51 and 4 along with Silverline so they maybe conflict or causing the problem.

ive also had problems with sticking and freezing over the last 3 weeks .
i watched the video on connection tuning with the betangel tool.it helped some .the freezing happens when there is alot of volume ie,the last minuite before the off or just at in play.
but i am using an old machine windows vista ive done a complete system restore (back to origional factory settings)
im using a wireless dongle like 3g,,
my question is this ,is there a vpn i c the information i need but with a smaller bandwith ? im aware of the betangel vpn,but its too expensive for me as im still not making money after 3 years at this crazy business,is there a less expensive or free vpn? and would this help me ?
thanks in advance .

convoysur what i would personally do is try and get your current system working as good as possible before trying paying for VPN etc. Firstly i would check how good is your internet connection as a starting point you can get a rough idea of download speeds and ping by going to speedtest.net. You might want to try testing it with a cable rather than wireless dongle. Then you check task manager to see if your computer is powerful enough.
Just some ideas you might want to consider

thanks..
i think bottom line i need a new machine ,and cable connection,
its just to much for the connection with betangel ,odds checker,at the races ,forum etc ,all running at the same time.

It's tricky to specifically say why it's freezing but to make a better judgement you need to give us information to replicate it. If you have a ton of trades for example it could be the bet retrieval from Betfair or if you have loads of markets in Guardian it may be struggling to get all the information you need simultaneously. But if we know the underlying detail it's possible we may be able to identify the cause and offer a remedy.

hi euler.
how do i give you the information to trouble shoot it ?
i normally load all the days racing in gardian ,i open my watch list with all the days racing .then i set to sort by event start time.but then i pause the refresh in the watch list and close gardian.would this cause a problem ? should i keep refresh in gardian going ?i dont know .its all been trial and error, but i cant seem to crack it.my refresh on betangel itself is normally on 750-ms or 1 scecond refresh.
thanks

Anyone else having problems with a connected Excel spreadsheet recently?

For a couple of weeks now the connected Excel sheet has not been updating data on the sheet (freezing for more than 15 seconds). Specifically the F4 (Time Remaining) is failing to update. I am using Virgin (avge 15Mb/sec with no other software running and I have tested back over 2 years of similar Excel sheets (dozens) and it happens on all of them whereas in the past this problem didn't exist.

Bet Angel ladder seems to be operating OK but the attached Sheet isn't being updated. Some days the problem happens every 6-7 races and other days every race is affected, at all times it seems to be inside the final 2 minutes of say 10-12.

I presume you have taken into account the Guardian refresh cycle?

I would open task manager and look to see what is taking CPU or network resources when you experience this.

Thanks 6thSense but I am not using Guardian and I have Task Manager open but only BA is using any resources.
