Hi all,

It's been advertised widely that paddy Power will refund losing single bets if Dunguib (4/5) wins the Supreme Novices Hurdle on Tuesday so surely we can take advantage of that.
There are some conditions though to stop punters lumping on multiple selections.

Max refund per customer £200/€300.
Paddy Power will refund the average stake of multiple single bets on this market; if, at our sole discretion, we feel you are abusing this offer.

Bearing that in mind how about this;

Back Dunguib @ 2.0 with BF for £200 & Dutch the 2nd to 6th in the betting with PP for total stake £200 (currently around 2.0 or evens).

If Dunguib wins £200 profit from BF & money back from PP = £200 profit

If 2-6 wins £200 loss on BF & £200 profit from PP = £0

If any other horse wins -£400

Not quite a free bet on Dunguib but effectively 1/2 with most likely upset covered as break even.

Anyone have a different strategy?

I have a feeling Paddy Power could get burnt on this one. I won't be backing Dunguib at even money but I won't be laying him either.

I have followed racing for a long time and I have gone through this race many times and still cannot find anything to oppose Dunguib with! He is a bit clumsy at his hurdles and usually in a fast true run race at Cheltenham you would say he would be found out. However he is so much better than anything else we've seen that it makes sense to watch the race and enjoy it. I liked Menorah but they nearly killed him in his last race and that doesn't augur well for this race. The other horse I like is Blackstairmountain so I may take up Mr Power on his offer and take a chance on this one.

I know this isn't trading but hey it's Cheltenham and it doesn't get any better in terms of NH racing!

Well I didn't get off to a good start. The Internet connection in the office went down, thanks BT, so I had to jump in the car and go for plan B. Fortunately it was 1/2 before the off and I am now settled in another location. But I'll only be at half strength for the day.

ouch, on the 1st day of Cheltenham as well!

Sods law really, I was very concerned at the recent stability of BF/API so had employed my highest level of contingency just in case....thankfully I didn't need it!

That was a good result for me, I laid Dunguib and backed Spring Jim. Unfortunately Spring Jim didnt win but I had a bigger lay to ofsett my back on Spring Jim.

Hope trading was good for everyone.

Only wish I could trade in the week and not just weekends and nights.

Cheers

Jimmy
