[*]Market Base Rate in WA is increasing to 8%
[*]Turnover charge threshold has increased from 50 to 1000 markets.
[*]In-play betting for all harness racing from tomorrow.
Great changes. Not sure how they can afford to increase the turnover charge threshold, but who's complaining?

Now we just need the Greyhounds to go inplay

Victoria is enacting a minimum bet rule from 1 October in time for the main Spring Racing season.
As with NSW, bookmakers will be obliged to accept $2k bets on metro racing and $1k on country and provincial racing.
Australia's primary betting markets will soon have minimum bet rules which is a fair outcome for Australian punters.

It's forcing them to lay to lose $2k and $1k.
Considering the dwindling numbers of on course bookmakers, it seems a bit irrelevant to me.
So for instance a Sunday meeting at Bendigo, and they go up $10 about something you like, by law they only have to let you on for $100. Then they'll wind that horse into 6's. Hardly daredevil stuff.
Guess it beats the gutless offshore imposters that just decline your stake and then shut the account.... don't get me started on them

Not really been following the news in regards to Aus racing but also just loaded to try and have a play and couldn't. What does this mean, has ausy racing been totally scrapped from BF?gazuty wrote:So today is the day.
Went to load up today's racing and wondered why the full race program didn't load. Now realise I guess it is the last day of the Australian wallet.
The retirement of the AUS Exchange Endpoint is scheduled to begin at 0700 BST on the 20th September as planned.
Please be aware of the following:
• Until 7am the markets will be available as they exist currently on the AUS exchange.
• From 7am-noon there will be no AUS markets available while we start the migration. New AUS markets on the Global Exchange will be activated at around noon.

Love the way BF are dressing it up as a way of improving customer experience. No it isn't, it's just a cost cutting exercise LMAO.

I think it's a leap forward tbh, was always a stupid idea to have an AUS wallet when things could easily have been handled server side by Betfair. It's sad we no longer have an easy method to ring fence funds but the AUS wallet was never there for that point and there's always the games/poker wallets.
Hopefully Betfair will now look at the issues of being able to limit liabilities per bet/market etc rather than leaving it up to third party software providers. Betfair's idea of responsible gambling seems to end at putting up a gamcare link on the site.
