RANT CORNER
Look at the picture they've chosen here. It's just not reality. I've had it with media, anyone who's deliberately distorting people's psyche should be shot imo, they're the ones responsible for depression & or suicides. Evil behaviour.

People must have the 'right to offend' without facing a police investigation

Safe for a bit longer. Two judges have struck a blow to enemies of free speech after ruling people should have the right to offend and even abuse each other without facing a police investigation.
Presiding over a Court of Appeal case concerning the misgendering of a trans woman on Twitter, Lord Justice Bean and Mr Justice Warby ruled that “free speech encompasses the right to offend, and indeed to abuse another”, adding: “Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having”.
They said it would be a “serious interference” with the right of free speech if “those wishing to express their own views could be silenced by, or threatened with, proceedings for harassment based on subjective claims by individuals that felt offended or insulted”.
The judgment could have far-reaching implications for officers seeking to bring charges over people’s opinions - a move that has seen them branded the “thought police” by campaigners for free speech.

The reporting on all this has been atrocious - the most charitable interpretation is that the media have been grossly irresponsbile in so much of their reporting, the more extreme view is that a lot of this is literal propaganda.
Agree. I don't know how people have put up with it for so long, it's not just with Covid either, the enitre msm structure is built on the sale of fear to the public. The thing I fear the most is that people are actually soaking up what that fu*ckwit Boris & his boys are saying... they've got people doing circles with their social life, financial life, health needs etc and the media love it because they can sell more fear. At this point I'd rather listen to some crazy loon than these idiots, at least the loon would be consistently dependable with what he/she believes, as crazy as it may be.
And now of course we have the political tug of war, "Keir Stamer said this two weeks ago" spiel. I couldn't care less, they've been bickering back and forth for months, it's about time the general public banged some politicians heads together, instead of wondering around in circles waiting to be told what to do with THEIR lives next. Just how aimless people are is scary & it's because of the reliance on a system that controls their life.
The 'sale of fear' is absolutely spot on. I don't know how we get out of it. You see it now across all media - fear and outrage drives clicks, drives views, so reporting no longer is fair and balanced but focuses on the most niche of cases that will generate the maximum emotional response. I really think this is going to be something that will be hard to put back in the box.jamesg46 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 8:10 pmAgree. It'll never be put back into the box, it's a valuable tool for politicians that need to sell an agenda like war... I think we all remember those "weapons of mass destruction" - the reality is the weapons of mass destruction was, is and always will be politicians and msm.darchas wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 8:30 pmThe 'sale of fear' is absolutely spot on. Masses triggered by professional politicians and msm/propaganda are weapons of mass destruction. From masses point of view and in terms of their benefits, politicians and msm/propaganda are not weapons of mass destruction but parasites hindering healthy civilogenesis.jamesg46 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 8:39 pmIt'll never be put back into the box, it's a valuable tool for politicians that need to sell an agenda like war... Msm is the gun, the masses are the bullets & politicians hold the trigger.napshnap wrote: ↑Sun Dec 20, 2020 7:36 amMasses triggered by professional politicians and msm/propaganda are weapons of mass destruction. It's happened again as I was changing my garden lightbulb!!
I got another screw out of my toolbox, put the cover back on, then just as I spotted where the screw landed the old lightbulb rolled off the step ladder. There's some sinister force at work that thinks "shit, Derek's found his screw, let's make him sweep up some broken glass instead"!!
