I think my bet will be on Vauban, failed last year but I think with 92 days between races last year was an after thought, 51 days this time I am sure they are targeting this race this time, gets weight relief drawn in a good spot, been close to some very good horse. Buckaroo I would be all over but drawn 20 is a worry.
For trading I am thinking that Vauban will gather support as the day progresses and UK money arrives
Australian racing
Super fortunate outcome for me. biggest result in 3+ months
I keep getting asked for "tips" by people I meet here. I try to explain that's not what I do, however I suspect this pot luck win will not help matters

In other news, very suspect Telco practices surrounding 3G closure here.
My AUS SIM stopped working because the handset was purchased overseas (England) despite being 4G/LTE capable.
Buying a new SIM won't even allow me to use my phone here which is ridiculous.
Despite that, my UK SIM in the same device is still running fine on the same network system.
From what I can gather they are whitelisting IMEI numbers based on where phones were purchased, perhaps to try and boost sales of new handsets (basically they're taking a convenient shortcut which benefits themselves as a Telco operator at the cost of consumers). Ultra shady if I've understood it correctly and seems to be a ton of fallout around this over the last few days, but realistically any meaningful corrective action is probably gonna be way down the line meaning if you want an operational AUS number on many foreign handsets, you have to upgrade the device. There's some kind of firmware edit solution potentially but it seems pretty technical and differs for every handset so not expecting a high chance of success.
Without my UK SIM in the other slot my perfectly working handset would have become a WiFi-only brick overnight.

Yeah just one bet as part of +EV strategy so luck doesn't apply long term I suppose due to LLN, but it's nice to have it land coincidentally on a big race I suppose, makes the thing a bit more memorable^^
I always tell people luck is a short-term concept – getting the outcome(s) you desire before LLN comes into play, e.g. catching the bus at the perfect time if you went randomly when they're scheduled every 4 hours, and let's say it was the only time in your life you took a bus. You could say you were lucky when it came to catching buses from that perspective. Of course if you zoomed out and looked at multiple different scenarios that only happened once in your life things would again begin to average out so it only really applies to something you focus on in isolation imo
You for sure make your own luck, it's funny how often you can catch a lucky break because you happen to be active around those priceseightbo wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2024 5:12 amI always tell people luck is a short-term concept – getting the outcome(s) you desire before LLN comes into play, e.g. catching the bus at the perfect time if you went randomly when they're scheduled every 4 hours, and let's say it was the only time in your life you took a bus. Some sports it takes 1-2 moments to turn 1000 into 1.01 and it's def possible to be at the right place at the right time, in order to create a jackpot result from little to no risk
The beauty of trading

Flemington's the gift that keeps on giving today. 4-digit results are already rare for me, then bam! 2 in a row on MC day.
Can't help but feel fortunate despite knowing it's a statistical eventuality as you suggest Kai.
26°C and sunny here rn, gonna head out for a spontaneous lunch in the sun to soak in the occasion.
