RANT CORNER
"on her way to a birthday party". This would be with her support bubble or extended household (Scotland). But then that would exclude her from calling round on you. I look forward to your dismantling of my understanding of the current covid laws.

I can do that for you
It's ok to go to work in a place of 100s of staff (like a warehouse) but you can't go round to Daves house for a beer and a natter. I guess its whatever suits the tax purse. Everyone is at risk apart from the tax contribution scum of the earth... and I'm saying that from the perception of our Goverment and their guidance.
Her eyesight's not too good so she's driving to the birthday do to test whether she can recognise her friends. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that according to Downing Street.

Being from Russia, she strikes me as the sort of girl who would kiss everybody she meets on both cheeks normally. Hope she doesn't do it now but if there is any covid at the party I suspect it's coming my way!

Given your output on this forum I'm surprised by that post. The virus doesn't care about politics, economics or the need to socialise. It just thrives on human interraction. Thats all. Going to work if necessary makes you a key worker/hero. Going to see Dave for a few beers makes you a person that doesn't care about anyone else. It's so blindingly obvious that normal socialising is not possible, I don't really know how to express how annoying it is.jamesg46 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 7:10 pmI can do that for youlaws are there to be broken, especially when hardly anyone gives two hoots about them.

I don't socialise AT ALL except online. Because I have to be able to join my support bubble knowing that I've done everything possible not to unwittingly infect the vulnerable other half of my support bubble.
You're so selfish and unthinking it beggars belief.
Going to work makes you a key worker/hero... not in every case! Some guy/lady working down at the local manufacturing warehouse forming some steel to make a Costa coffee machine for motorway service stations isn't key or necessary, unless it to keep the flow of liquidity into the tax purse. What it does do is take money from the private sector into the public sector which pays for those key workers to do their jobs, like teachers... but here we see an hypocracy over the importance of a life based on the level you operate.greenmark wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 7:56 pmGiven your output on this forum I'm surprised by that post. Why not allow manufacture of Costa machines for motorway service stations? If they have the demand and can do it safely. Having travelled during the last 10 months I can tell you that not being able to stop for a pee, but still get a coffee bamboozles me.jamesg46 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 8:06 pmGoing to work makes you a key worker/hero... not in every case! And knock off a few pensioners in the bargain, win win, Derek.
It ain't me, it's her! I can hardly tell her to bugger off until the lockdown's over.spreadbetting wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 8:58 pmAnd knock off a few pensioners in the bargain, win win, Derek.

Sure, we all need our convenience, so why not risk a life for it. And I'm the selfish one.greenmark wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 8:38 pmWhy not allow manufacture of Costa machines for motorway service stations? If they have the demand and can do it safely. Getting a coffee is not as important to me as being able to relieve myself on a 4.5 hr trip. But I recognise morotway costa's etc are still open. So they need machines. Much as i don'tunderstand why the concept of a thermos flask has drifted into obscurity. And yes I could pee into a thermos.jamesg46 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 9:09 pmSure, we all need our convenience, so why not risk a life for it. The point was, nobody will recognise what you do other than you, selfhiness and prosperity go hand in hand. Everyone else is surving while you're trying to save them is ridiculous, I guarantee you'll end up under a bus by someone who's exploiting a free fare.greenmark wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 9:42 pmGetting a coffee is not as important to me as being able to relieve myself on a 4.5 hr trip. And I guarantee if you should end up under a bus (which I sincerely hope doesn't happen for the selfish reason of reading your posts) it will contain someone who is a hardworking person that may be or may one day be a Magistrate, Doctor, Nurse or other worthy and vital citizen.jamesg46 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 9:57 pmThe point was, nobody will recognise what you do other than you, selfhiness and prosperity go hand in hand.
