They immediately replied with a link to T & C.

I said they don’t apply for closed accounts and have asked for registered name/address to lodge a claim.

No reply .. yet.

Having 'Betfair' or any other gambling-related outfit appear on your bank debit card transactions can be VERY harmful for your credit score and future lending decisions. I use Paypal exclusively for deposits and withdrawals then transfer it for free overnight into my current account to avoid being flagged as a gambler.

Just so others realise, if you deposit your Betfair account through PayPal via a bank card, your bank will know where the funds went.
Correct. You need to send a BACS transfer to Paypal for deposits, and make BACS withdrawals. All completely free and untraceable by the banks.

CS
How do you send a BACS transfer to Paypal and how do you make BACS withdrawals? I couldn't find this option in my Paypal account and I am in the UK...But I can't see BACS option. Could you please explain how to do it? Thanks.

The account manager has directed me to an internal dispute resolution portal / but not provided details of the registered uk address which you need to complete an online small claims court filing.

Googling online, it appears the registered address is :

One Chamberlain Square Cs, Birmingham, B3 3AX, United Kingdom · Betfair Casino Limited, .

I have emailed Peter Jackson to confirm I can use his name/this address on the filing.

This does appear to be being badly dealt with by Betfair but firms are frightened to death of potential money laundering cases these days and anything that faintly whiffs of it will result in a closed account or transactions not going ahead. I know someone in the legal profession and clients are often unhappy with this sort of thing, it's called proof of funds. They have to show bank statements etc. to show where there money has come from. Firms (not just betting ones) are only applying the law as they see it, some better than others.

Out of interest, have they asked you (or threatened you) to keep quiet on Social Media?

I know Caan Berry gets some pelters here, but he makes some very interesting YouTube videos on the dark operations of our Sportsbooks/Betting companies, which includes potential legal action for publicly sabotaging their reputations and image online

Ultiamtely that's been his MO to drive traffic, find a popular topic, be as controversial as possible, get the most publicity, and shout the loudest, pretend to be the champion. Get views and revenue from that. I doubt he really even cares. It's just an angle.

That may change if somebody threw the book at him.
