I only start my emotion with my family, friends then with my neighbour, the next town, the next county etc. England is just one part of the land mass we call the United Kingdom. We are a mongrel nation (as are most). I don't believe in nationalism. It has nothing to offer. Preservation of a 'Culture'? All nations have culture. The UK is a cauldren of elements of disparate cultures. And far better for it.SeaHorseRacing wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 9:48 pmNothing wrong supporting your own country.
I hate it when I see people justifying why they want there country to well. It’s ok to love your country.

Real possibility the stadium for the Europa League final will have lots of empty seats. Apart from the fact its a 4,000km each way trip for English fans its only 3 days before the Champions League final and only 6,000 tickets for each set of fans... UEFA doing their best to be as incompetent as FIFA
They are basically saying they picked a venue where the fans couldn't travel to! Duh!! Why bother awarding it to that venue in the first place?!?!?!
68,000 seater stadium that only 15k people can travel to?

Will be interesting to hear the travel horror stories of those that do go, people complained about last years Champions League final being in Kiev, Baku is almost double the distance and is geographically closer to Mumbai than London.
Must have made sense to somebody

But its not all about us. Its about recruiting fee-paying subscribers from countries that are interested but don't feel part of it. Isn't it?Trader Pat wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2019 2:31 pmReal possibility the stadium for the Europa League final will have lots of empty seats. No offence but if its an all English Champions league and Europa League Final then why cant both games be played at Wembley ?
Just give the corrupt UEFA old age pensioners a couple of £ gate receipts etc.

No offence taken. Opinions and debate are the right way to go. But don't we need to reach out to these countries. They've had a pretty rubbish time over the last century and are now just emerging.BetScalper wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2019 7:42 pmNo offence but if its an all English Champions league and Europa League Final then why cant both games be played at Wembley ?

At the start of the competition there would have been at least a 95% chance that the winners were going to come from one of Europe's top 5 leagues so to have it played as far away as possible for fans of the teams who are going to contest the final doesn't make much sense.
Besides Baku is a host city for Euro 2020, they're hosting group games and a quarter final, if UEFA wanted to spread the love a little bit more fairly why not let Baku have one or the other and let other cities in central and Eastern Europe host games in the Euro's?

Sky, Virgin and Netflix should boycott showing the final.
That would leave UEFA to auction off the broadcast rights for peanuts as most sponsors would pull out.
You can disagree but 4 English teams have made it and therefore their fans deserve ALL the tickets they can get and be able to watch it live and cheaply if they so wish.

I actually don't understand allocation. Does this actually prevent someone from travelling/turning up at the stadium. Or is it that being amongst the non-allocated crowd isn't safe?Trader Pat wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2019 7:53 pmAt the start of the competition there would have been at least a 95% chance that the winners were going to come from one of Europe's top 5 leagues so to have it played as far away as possible for fans of the teams who are going to contest the final doesn't make much sense.
