They seem better here as well Derek. Though the big spoofer at Leopardstown is making that fav tricky to trade.

Shame, was hoping cheese & pickle could be the magic ingredients. Leopardstown's far more stable than usual.

Don't know if the evening markets are better or if I just feel better now that I've eaten. :)

i mean eating food can increase your trading performance, nothing to do with markets being 'good' or 'bad'

surely you just mean 'more conducive'

depends on the type of food you're eating. A heavy meal actually decrease your concentration and so trading performance. A low carb food is ok though.

Funny enough...

When I was really trying to transform my trading. I gave up the 30 ciggs a day. Got myself into a fitness regime and completely changed my diet.

Certainly has improved me as a person and a trader, on the topic. Leaving your desk to eat is also very good.

Just a better balance over all helps. I’ve never been fat but just from having a bad trade you might feel the urge to grab a chocolate bar etc... very rarely get anger outbursts, very rarely ill, stronger mentally and I do believe a balanced diet is 100% a strong factor.

I wasn't really being serious when I made the connection between food and good trading.

Is it just me or was the evening racing dominated by manipulators pushing the price of the favourite around? Seemed like there was some chunky lay bets forcing the price out fairly often.

Tomorrow (I suppose today now!) I might just sit out a few markets and watch/record the ladders.

I've noticed recently there are a lot of four-figure bets that get cancelled as the market moves through them, but even the three-figure amounts before and after aren't getting fully matched. I reckon most of what you see on the ladder isn't real money that's intended to be matched.

Seems to be since that mad spoofer appeared last week but realised it doesn't work no more and now seem to spreading the orders out instead, might be wrong but that's what it feels like
