Dyce sacked ta Everton, not surprise really with new owners. Good motivational manager Dyce especially if he comes in and you need results quick other than that he doesn't have much to offer in the Premier League.

He'd be a good addition to any Championship club IMO

Southagte to Everton maybe?

I'm a bit staggered by this item. Dyche was handed a mess of a team with an ownership that really should never own a football club.
He's weathered that storm and then given the boot. Very interesting to see who they appoint. Coleman and Baines apparently in charge for the interim.
I don't want EFC to crash but I feel sorry for Dyche and wish the new owners get a bloody nose, but that wouldn't help the EFC proud heritage and their fans.
If they go down with the burden of a new stadium it could be awful.

I'm surprised, you think he probably would have kept them up. Everton always seem to be underperformers though!

Dyche has pulled them out of relegation.
There is more to this than meets the eye. The players seem to be able to turn it on when they want. That's always a bad sign.
Were their poor performances an attempt by the players to force Moshiri to sell? Or were the players just disrupted by the soap opera around the ownership.
Hpow many of us could remain focussed when we don't know who we wiill be working for nexxt month.
I think Dyche did a great job against that backdrop.

Timing would suggest the owners have a planned appointment in place.

Otherwise why leave it all week then sack him just before tonight's match?

Dyche did what what was asked of him but he has limitations as a manager. New owners probably want a fresh start which is understandable.

I hope Everton can push on with new owners because they have been absolutely dreadful for years. The fans definitely deserve more.

I undertand your point about Dyche's style. I like him though. He took on Burnley and then Everton.
His style will never win any prizes for "entertainment". But there is nothing so entertinaing as winning boringly and nothing so dismal as losing gloriously.
Those two concepts are the difference between EPL survival and being lobbed into the maelstrom of the Championship.

I'm seeing Moyes or Mourinho. my contact with EFC fans is they do not want Moyes back. They resented his style while he was there and said "good riddance" when he left fot Man U. And Mourinho???? Nah.....can't see that. But I guess if EFC can attract Ancelotti, who knows? Seems this market is ...er ....embryonic.

Or retry Big Dunc.
Or Joe Royle, he's only 75.

Apologies for my flippancy, bubt when Mourinho is in the frame it all gets a bit silly.

The bookies are saying Moyes which I personally would be happy about but I've made the mistake in the past of assuming that Toffee's are pro-Moyes. Even when they were flying and I tried to engage with my EFC acquaintances about him I was met with grumbly, head-down, evasive body language, and these guys turned up for footy every week in EFC strips.

I don't really see how sacking Dyche for Moyes will change anything. Hope I'm wrong but I don't see how Moyes can craft a team in the 2024 EPL that looks anything like his successful teams first time around. His 1st Everton teams were a hotch-potch of players that had been overlooked.
Coleman
Fellaini
Baines
Pienarr
Cahill

But he got them working very well

More intrigue.

I think Everton are hoping he repeats the cycle of when he first took charge back in the day.

Saved them from relegation, good cup runs, got them into Europe....then went to Man Utd.....

Setting aside my LFC bias I always liked Moyes at EFC.

Coleman solid as a rock on the right.
Pienarr, Baines and Fellaini creating triangles in the last 3rd and "Mayhem" Cahill athe point of the sword.

I hope he succeeds but I just can't see the characters in the EFC squad to do it.

Surprised to see Brentford fail at home and out of the FA Cup.

Well played Tamworth I hope they go on to win it in ET or pens but The Premier League driven by pure greed have denied them a replay for that they should hang their heads in shame denying grass roots clubs not only a replay but financial security for a year or two at least.

Lower league football is the lifeblood of English football. As much as I detest this Labour Government I hope they do the right thing with the football regulator and trample all over the Premier League and curtail its greed they have the power to do it and hope they wield it.
