It must be a tough life all the same, being a queen. Imagine the big decisions you have to make: like which palace will one stay in for Christmas, or even trying to remember all the servents names, nightmare !
 As well as what clothes your children wear at each event!
And if you're worth 450 milion why would you rock up several hundred times a year at events that generate charity donations and international investment. All with grace and dignity and charm.
Trump is a billionaire and a total undemocratic king canute.

Hats off the the Girl scout who spotted the food and drink being binned and going to waste as people approach the Palace of Westminster (as you are not allowed to take any food or drink in with you)

So she contacted an organisation who distributes food parcels to homeless and food banks so now any unopened non-perishable is going to a good cause and not simply being binned

Why don't they just have a ticket system? Spend 12 hours in a comfortable warm pub and start queuing up when you're number's approaching.

They do that already for the disabled queue, but where do you house several thousand able bodied queuing people nearby, and that would probably generate a queue for the ticketing machine and even more people might want one when they can't see the number of people already waiting

You can issue tickets online with a news feed telling them when to start queuing up. With a 24-hour wait they will disperse far and wide. People living in or around London could even go home and go to bed. Special permission to London pubs to stay open 24 hours. :)

I thought I quite liked the Queen but these documentaries have been revealing. More than once I heard her say "democracies are broke because they're too generous" to her snooty friends .... Seems like having no public comment for 70yrs was a good thing or we'd know what she was really like. The more I've seen the more it seems she was just like the rest of her sort.

Some believe she was behind Diana’s death. Not directly of course but gave the nod so to speak as she was painting the monarchy in a very bad way.

Assuming you believe she was murdered and it wasn’t just an accident.

I remember watching an episode of Spooks whereby they showed how it could be done. Very believable, well, for me anyway. :)

A very short time ago she helped wrong 'un Andrew pay off that abused minor, so this notion she is beyond reproach is BS.

On the whole she appears a nice old biddy but the notion she understood and had empathy for the disadvantaged in society who were her subjects too is more BS. Thats an observation against the establishment toadies who want to deify her rather than the Queen herself.

Sir Lindsay Hoyle: “We should not let anything overshadow the most important event the world will ever see and that is the funeral of her majesty”

The thread seems to be heading into "The Queen was crap, being popular will not change that". Popularity happens for a reason. Admittedly, Trump and BJ as popularist leaders does weaken that argument. But neither of those pillocks had to maintain grace and dignity and service for 70 years.
Fact is the response has been overwhelmingly positive about Liz.

I never thought of it but deciding on a seating plan for the funeral is quite a political challenge!

Would have been worse if Putin was coming.
