As much as I am glad to see the back of her, I absolutely hate the way politicians are hounded out for discrepancies that are completely irrelevant to their ability to perform.

This country needs a greater pool of political ability, not less.

Who in their right mind would choose politics over a senior private sector career nowadays? And yet we rely on these people to oversee our £2.5tn economy.
I agree, to be an MP you can stand on nothing and have no qualifications at all and no experience of anything useful. That's a really core fundamental problem.

There is no other job that requires no qualifications or an interview to bag a £500k contract. I realise that that's a sort of principle of a democracy, but it's not really helping things. You wonder who is really running the country half the time.

Is that a Labour Party statement? What a load of bull excrement! and as for the "twelve pillars" ... they won't be around for a decade!

I suspect it was the journalist stringing a few key labour messages together to highlight how ridiculous the many messages sound.

PS: If you have not seen The Thick of IT have missed out on one of the best comedy series ever produced ! Highly recommended whatever your political persuasion )

No I've never heard of it but am a great fan of Yes (Prime) Minister. :D It's a bit like Fawlty Towers, no matter how often I re-run them I still laugh. Modern comedy just doesn't cut it compared.
