So many groups to keep track of now.

There was a march / protest / riot in Dublin a few weeks back when all these groups clashed with each other then the police. There was the far left, the far right, anti lockdown, anti vaccers, anti maskers... all that was missing was the anti pasti and the anti christ
Not surprised with so many divisive narratives being run by the media; black vs white (BLM), men vs women (recent murder), masks vs no masks, right vs left.

It's almost as if it's divide and conquer, and it still works because humans haven't evolved emotionally

Something we agree on!

When these protests with so many different groups turn violent though I'd love to know who effectively throws the first punch. You also get a lot of random pissheads and trouble makers going along because they've nothing better to do.

Divisive topics aren't necessarily the problem, people used to be able to hold constructive conversations even with conflicting opinions. The openness of conversations in a group structure can be particularly toxic though, you tend to get people who claim to play no part but then encourage others, I've seen examples of it in this forum.

Waiting for Derek to rant about the anti-lockdown protests once this busy afternoon of trading is up
Haven't had time to watch the news but it's not the sort of thing I rant about. There will always be conflict between subjective matters such as left/right-wing politics, but the covid and non-covid believers argument is very different. One side has concrete scientific proof, the other has a fairytale book containing a science-fictional story of a microscopic chip with miniature fins that can swim around in your bloodstream, connect to and control your brain, but no actual evidence of the chip's existence or even the basic technology. ;)
I don't expect it will be on the news or much of it, but lots of videos showing police and territorial support being overwhelmed in apparently the biggest protest the UK has ever had

That's because no sane person wants to spend an hour, 48 minutes and 59 seconds watching a bunch of mindless idiots letting off steam!!

You'll probably find a YouTube video of some jerk sucking his own you know what - so I'd rather watch BBC/Sky News to find out what important things are happening around the world. With the atrocities going on in Ethiopia I don't have much sympathy for people unhappy that they can't go down the pub.

This discussion should really be on the Covid thread. Keep this thread clear for somebody who needs an emergency rant. :)

I've got an emergency rant... the whole day I've had two thick green circles around my eyes, the Mrs found great pleasure in drawing a pair of glasses on my face because I fell asleep watching a film with her.

This morning I was looking for my glasses & the Mrs asked me, "what are you looking for?" To which I replied, "My glasses", & a reply came from my living room, "Why Dad, you already have a pair on". The level at which these people operate on is frustrating.

I've seen on the news about a billion mice are running riot in the Australian desert. Nobody knows what they're protesting about, but more importantly, nobody cares. The only concern is how do you get rid of them. :)

Obviously hasn't seen footage of the poll tax riots or the miner's strike or the Tottenham/Brixton/Toxteth riots.. Or Gay Pride. Or any number of long forgotten protests. The Jarrow March, for example.
I' ve just spent 1 hour 48 minutes of my life looking for a reason for that video to be posted here.
And I found one. That is, our police force are incredibly disciplined in the face of outrageous abuse for just doing their job. Where were these 'protesters' when a copper gets stabbed in Westminster? Where were they when two guys run loose stabbing people at random?
Where are they day in day out when terrorists and criminals are trying to harm society?
I'll tell you. Nowhere to be seen!!!

He said "apparently" the biggest protest. That means in the eyes (mind and delusion) of the beholder. I don't think anyone's really done an accurate head count. :)

Taverners Wine Gums & Midget Gems are very budget friendly in Home Bargains at 59p a packet and they taste just fine to me. :D

I might order one of those glucose home tests off amazon, the amount of confectionary I devour as an adult could render me a Diabetes Type 2 candidate. :o
