Of dear, change for the sake of change! Who is to say the recently proven to be immoral, lying Labour will be any better/different?
I have to admire your sense of humour, calling Labour liars in the wake of Johnson.![]()

The UK won’t succeed as I think most people expect or would like.greenmark wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 6:11 pmCompare FTSE to Dow or european stock markets. FTSE has flat-lined (ignore the covid, ukraine troughs) since 2016. The other stock markets have recovered and continued on an upward trajectory. You can't deny that Brexit is holding us back. The truth of Brexit remains to be seen. I would love the UK to soar on the new found freedom of Brexit, but as time goes on it's looking less and less like a good idea. But there is no point being a grumpy remoaner I just want the UK to succeed regardless of the political landscape.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 6:00 pmAh I see you bought the old "slowest growing economy" line from the current bandwagon of doom being shouted from the rooftops by the LL media. It is a favourite of the left wing media all right so I can see how you are getting excited. The truth of it is however that the UK is only "slowest growing" because we have grown more than others since Covid, so we were still ahead of most other large economies in real terms. Oh BTW I see you forget to include German in your 'tanking' claims. Aren't they the economy to copy?Archangel wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 1:45 pmAh I see you bought the old "fastest growing economy" line from a few years ago, and to be shouted from the rooftops like Boris used to do. It was a favourite of the right wing media all right so I can see how you might have got excited. The truth of it was however that the UK was only "fastest growing" because we had tanked so much during Covid and Brexit, so we were still behind most other large economies in real terms.
And when was one of these forecasts last accurate? I heard on the news this morning in comment to the latest IMF forecast for the UK that of the last 28 forecasts they have issued 25 have underestimated the UK 's performance but never mind, I know you will wheel out any random pessimistic forecast, shout about it and go very quiet when the doom and gloom doesn't materialise. That's the left media for you!
- Lack of housing. Problem, not n my backyard.
- Energy. Problem, no wind farms in my backyard.
- Insulating old homes. Problem, billions of £.
- Healthcare. Problem, chucking billions down a big hole.
- Defence. Problem, billions of £.
- Population. Problem, ageing, living longer but with chronic problems.
- Manufacturing. Problem, we don’t build anything that anyone wants.
In the UK 80% of people are nett takers and not nett contributors. Means it’s like a pyramid selling system with pensions and healthcare. For every £1 we receive we spending £3.50. Basic maths tells you we fucked long term.
To fix everything like most want would take £ trillions and trillions. We will never raise that from the economy ever. Only from borrowing.
Nobody and I mean nobody can fix this without upsetting the majority along the way.
So Labour has now been promoted to no better, rather than a potential disaster.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 6:05 pmYou don't get do you Derek ... all I'm saying is that Labour is no better.
I was just pointing out the irony of calling them liars when the buffoon lied faster than you can discharge bullets from a machine gun!
Harry & Meghan's son's birthday is on Coronation Day. What a lucky excuse for Meghan not to turn up.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:38 pmThis happened on a Wednesday and wife and I were due to go to a wedding on the Saturday that we were not looking forward to so they found a phone that was mobile (this was before mobile phones) and I called her and said I had the perfect excuse for us not to attend the wedding!![]()

And yet we have a man who dreams of becoming a tampax, king without batting an eye. And who's family continue to pilfer money from the state at an unbelievable rate.

Why are you using this reference to Firlandsfarm to make a mocking post?
Firlandsfarm was describing how he and his wife navigated his heart attack.
Your post sounds a bit like post-bicker revenge.
Where is the connection between Firlandsfarm and the bizarre life of an ex-royal and spouse?
You could have posted without the quote to Firlandsfarm. It would still have stood on it's merits.
That wasn't intended as a mocking post. I was just referring to excuses to miss an event.greenmark wrote: ↑Thu Apr 13, 2023 4:29 pm/Derek27 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 10:56 pmHarry & Meghan's son's birthday is on Coronation Day. Fair enough, but why alight on firlandsfarm? How many other excuses are out there? I don't know the answer to that question but I'm guessing that firlandsfarm's rates quite highly as entirely justified and is no way comparable to the meghan absence from the coronation, The latter is more to do with the current media battle between the monarchy and mehgan's PR team.Derek27 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 13, 2023 5:54 pmThat wasn't intended as a mocking post. firlandsfarm used the term "perfect excuse", which can be taken as very lucky excuse. I don't mean lucky that he had a heart attack but lucky that he had a good excuse for not attending the wedding. This just happened to be on the same subject in that Archies birthday fell on Coronation Day.greenmark wrote: ↑Thu Apr 13, 2023 7:54 pmFair enough, but why alight on firlandsfarm? Come to think of it, they probably planned it for Archies' birthday to make sure Meghan couldn't attend.

It's not Brexit that's holding us back if anything it's the Remoaners who keep putting obstacles in the way of Brexit. Maybe if the Remoaners could accept they lost and put their efforts behind the country we could do a lot better.

I've never said Labour would be a disaster, nobody knows but they are very reluctant to give any detail how they will achieve things. The 'boats' for example ... "we will stop the boats". How? Explain.
And what about the irony of Labour calling the Conservatives liars when they lie! Irony is not one way.

I thought it was Sunak that says they will stop the boats. Labour says they will open safe and legal channels which all obviously stop some people from risking the crossing, though I accept it won't stop people who know they have no legitimate claims for asylum.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Fri Apr 14, 2023 3:14 pmI've never said Labour would be a disaster, nobody knows but they are very reluctant to give any detail how they will achieve things. Almost everybody lies, but nobody does it with the frequency, blatancy and arrogance of Boris the Liar.
Where do you read this stuff?firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Fri Apr 14, 2023 3:09 pm

Same old statements with no facts to back any of it up
