I don't feel it was anything more than an error in the caching and rouge data was being thrown back.
It was quite profitable if you exploited the bots that just lift their prices off Betfair and use them on Betdaq as the bots were trying to lay up to the 2.16 while at the same time backing at the actual back price which was much lower. It didn't really take hold until right near the off on Betdaq as the bots struggled to lay into the back money until late on when it ate through it and left a very large spread to be exploited.
I would say the bot owners have plenty of 'bad' data on it
