If researched properly would it be possible to create a consistently profitable bot? Has anyone profited or no anyone that profits consistently off bots?
The only bot I've managed to get consistently winning every day on all races is only trading to a maximum liability per race of £2 as I work from a bank of just £200. I have no stop losses (they invariably end up losing far more than they should, even pre-off in my experience) and set the bot to stop and green / hedge up at 15 mins before event start time.

I've tried in play and laying short favourites and all sorts with varying degrees of success, but none that lose less in a typical week that they make in an average day, which is my qualifying criteria.

Below are the screenies for the last 3 days, indeed yesterday I was home and managed to score a green on each of the 40 races I traded due to some manual intervention. Normally my strike rate is nearer 80% than 100% but rarely lower.

So, in short, yes, TRY IN PRACTICE MODE but eventually you may find one that gives sufficiently consistent gains for you to adopt. You are always tweaking and looking to maximise the margins ofc.

PeterLe gave me the inspiration to keep going until I'd cracked it and I will always be grateful to him and Dallas that helped me enormously when I first started my botting endeavours around a year ago... I believe Jimbit also has some success with bots too, and no doubt several others, not least Mr. Webb.

Good Luck and keep looking. It's nice when you get a consistent strategy that works over time, of which there are several be assured.

Crazyskier wrote the bot himself, with I am sure information and help from people on this site. No one however is going to hand over a profitable bot they have spent hours and hours developing, just because someone asks them for it. If however you start to work on your own bot and need some help with it, then you will find plenty of people here that will give you good advice and encouragement.

No worries, if automation is your thing, check out the BA videos on youtube and also read many of the threads about it all on this forum. There are all kinds of different strategies you can use, but all involve lots of work which is why when people finally find something that works well, they are not going to give it away for free.

Hi,

Just wanted to ask a question regarding Automation. When creating a system is it better to go for one that picks up the pennies or one that looses often but then gets a big win. I understand that it doesn't matter which one as long as its profitable in the long run. I would just like an opinion form more experienced traders than myself which they use/prefer. :)

Thanks

Im a low risk / high reward trader, happily take a losing day in the low 3 figures if I know long term the strategy is profitable, a mind-frame which I think is an edge in itself. I actually find it really tricky to create something that consistency picks up the pennies/pounds.

See below for 7 months of pnl per market for a typical strategy.

Average negative market: -£0.38
Average positive market: £1.55

Thanks LinusP. Might focus my energy more on this low risk/ High reward strategy. I have seen a couple of other posts where they have hinted at doing this aswell.

I'd have to agree with LinusP, I think bots are more naturally suited to the low risk high reward situations than trying to create trading bots. You have to accept that they won't have smooth pnl graphs but it's the end result that matters and from a commission based view even break even bot's are worth the effort if the turnover is high and consistent.

That's not to say you can't make money from trading bots there's a thread on here about trading the gaps on the dogs that I tweaked and makes around £3K pm on a consistent basis from a low profit high turnover basis but I think the potential rewards are higher from other methods.

Just keep your options open as many profitable bot ideas can emerge from tweaking a losing bot.
