Yes - the racing today is no way near yesterdays quality but still some good late moves on Free Judgement and the fav in the last 10 seconds or so as the last couple loaded a big amount came in that needed matching.
Not expecting as good a results as yesterday but so far so good.
Ascot
Can someone please explain to me that late and pretty dramatic drift on Safina? Cam totally out of the blue from where I'm standing, no visible problem with the horse and being well talked up, suddenly huge amounts trying to lay. A classic case of manipulation??

I don't think it was manipulation was it? I wasn't watching that horse closely so maybe I missed something.
I found Ascot not quite as good yesterday but I wasn't expecting it to be quite as good given the lower quality of racing and market make up. Overall though still quite pleasing but what wasn't was that again I struggled on the other cards during the afternoon - It is a bit bizarre as normally it is the other way around that I struggle with the big meeting and do well on the lesser meetings.
Definitely something I need to sort out today as I am missing out on a good bit of profit from the other meetings.

I think it's difficult and a skill in itself to be able to switch between the big races and the usual races back to back. Personally I was hardly making anything in the other two so I'll just spend the next two days concentrating on Ascot only, makes a change from the usual grind and if I get it right I can get more out of one race at Ascot than all the small races put together
I'm the other way round, I concentrate on the other meetings, I really don't know how some of you guys read the big meetings, does anyone have any vids of trading a big meeting? you must have a lot of patience sitting behind like 20k or more either side of the book. Even when I do get matched it seems to be very tricky to work out which way it's going.hgodden wrote:I think it's difficult and a skill in itself to be able to switch between the big races and the usual races back to back. I wonder how Mr Heathcote is doing this Ascot, he seems to get some ridiculous profits from the big meetings, He doesn't post much at all these days so I doubt we'll find out.

Me too - worse day for me. Very poor so far
Markets seem a bit wild moving around a good bit but for not much money.

Just made a right Royal cock up - was on Ask pretty big had my lay in low and was hoovering over the market ready to get out if needs be and clicked by accident, missed out on a huge trade

It was really smashed up late on there, wish I'd held on till the end of it I could have probably made half a weeks normal profits just on that! It makes me wonder if maybe one of the chain bookies didnt smash it down late on to lower the SP they'd have to pay, ended up at 11/4, yet most of the matched money was at 5s on betfair and was 7/2 on course.andyfuller wrote:Just made a right Royal cock up - was on Ask pretty big had my lay in low and was hoovering over the market ready to get out if needs be and clicked by accident, missed out on a huge trade
