Auto trade during the day

Discussion regarding the spreadsheet functionality of Bet Angel.

It's good that there's basic functionality for automation, but you must admit that there is a lot of room for improvement. Until recently it didn't even have a timer! There seem to be several bugs, I will just mention two of the most annoying:

*It swaps the names of runners cells according to who is the favourites (so favourites go to top), but the cells on the right (the command cells) are not swapped. This can lead to it placing bets on the wrong horse (or betting on the same horse twice) if the bet commands are automated and the bet is placed a long time before the race. (The only way the user can fix this is to write a complex function to check all command cells and not bet on selection if it was previously bet on).

*The new GREEN_ALL command (to close all trades) doesn't seem to be totally reliable, on several occasions it does not close my trades, leaving bets in-play.

The spread-sheet functionality is still not user-friendly in the way that the main application is.

Betfair swap the order of the runners at random so there is no way for us to re-interpret that as the spreadsheet just feeds in what Bet Angel shows.

We haven't noticed any issues with the green all, but if are seeing some then please drop a note to support.

Hi
All you need to do is to use the rank command in Excel then program it accordingly to trade the first; second etc...

re the Green_All command. I have been using this now fine for a couple of weeks and it seems fine. The only hiccup appears to be when it is trying to green up a value of say 1p, but that is not a problem

...Only thing that is missing now from the excel functionality (if I've not already mentioned it!) is the ability to program the data requests ;)

regards
Peter

PS Re the comment by Betangel about being VERY careful...I think Betangel may confirm it...but I think Excel overrides the liability setting on the main BA screen too??...if so be careful.

Hi Sweetbt
That's interesting? I didn't think it was possible??
(Are we talking about the max 20 req/second??) Which cell do you reference within the worksheet?
Thanks
Peter

We will have to see if we can fit this in a new release at some point.

We have had a user take the original spreadsheet concept and turn it into some far more jazzy. Which we have attached. This is an all signing all dancing version!

There is a lot in there, but this should prove a useful starting point for users. It sort of replicates the automation tab but adds a lot more depth to it and, of course, it can run all day for you.

Please bear in mind its not possible for us to offer support for this spreadsheet which has been written and donated by a long time Bet Angel user, whose only condition was that they not have to support them, give advice or re-code. We would like to thank him for donating it to the community.

At the end of the day the idea behind Excel is to give users the freedom to develop their own ideas and learn. We give no guarantees that spreadsheets posted will be bug free or do exactly what they expect. So treat them with care. Use minimum stakes. And feel free to re-code them and share with the community.

Hi,

Just reading this thread and saw the comment on the auto 'green-up' function not working all the time. I have been running a new spreadsheet I've been developing and have noticed 2 instances over the last couple of days where the auto green-up has failed.

I didn't think it was the BA 'green-up' function but more likely my own programming in the spreadsheet. Particularly, I have found I had an overlap of a couple of timers, including when the bot stops trading, when it tries to green-up, and when the fill_kill time expires. Since addressing these I've had no further problems as of yet.

Might be a red herring but I did spot the bot firing bets in via the fill_kill time just as it was trying to green-up so make sure this timer expires prior to the green-up. Thanks

If there is enough interest, I am sure we can get some more put on the forum.

We recently put a video up of an autotrading spreadsheet. The basis of the spreadsheet is the clear status cells workbook which is in the spreadsheet area of the forum.

Where can I download this original sheet Peter?

I'm not so keen on the bells and whistles upgrade

Lovely and very interesting spreadsheet. Many thanks for posting it !

Could you tell how does the STATUS cell can automatically clear the PLACED status without me manually deleting it ?

Thanks

Maybe it's obvious but do you have to force open reverse when using Angel-auto-trade-v2.xls or it does not make a difference ?

I have noticed a thing when using Angel-auto-trade-v2.xls . Lets say I use WOM RULES and it is set up If Wom>= 60% Lay, WOM<=40% back. When WOM get's 60+ it will lay, but when WOM is less than 40% it never triggers even when there is no pending bets. So every time I enter a trade with lay bet, but never with back bet. Why ?
