Yep... Me too... Felt like I was walking through treacle, a lot less 'real' money 'on the table'. A real grind!

I tend to my best plan for days like today is just to try and stay out of trouble and to try not to force my orders through out of frustration or be tempted in to any rash moves, otherwise I'll just spend tomorrow and Saturday clawing myself back to the same bank I started the tough day with - have learnt the hard way by doing that on a number of occassions in the past...!

Rhys - I have to say that your openess regarding tough days, losses and even good results is extremely refreshing and unfortunately very rare among betting related forums. I have promised myself to be more open from now on, rather than 'lurking' in the background as I am sure it helps not just those of us that are full-time, and more hardened to the pre-race markets but especially for all of the newbies out there just starting out...

If the UK markets are proving too difficult why not try the Aus markets - especially over the next fortnight which is the biggest fortnight in Aus racing for the year - I have noticed that even on
mid week racing lately the liquidity has picked up - of course, it's not at UK levels but the Aus markets offer some good trading oportunities - and unforunately, no, I'm not on a commission1

And, yes, I realise that you will have to get up at some heathen hour to trade these markets. :)

cheers

I just can't get ANY order to fill today. I can put £500 in the market and sit here like a lemon waiting for three minutes while nothing happens. Very poor today.

Yes it is slooow today...
Decided to call it a day..managed to recoup about half what Betfair stole; whoops, I mean took out as a Premium Charge this morning!!
Maybe if any of us become shareholders we can suggest at the first AGM, that Premium Charge contributors should receive 1 share per £100 of PC! :)

It was an annoying day. It's always worse when it comes on PC day, often looking at my balance having gone down it feels like I've made a bad loss that I want to get back before moving forward again. Hopefully things will pick up a bit soon. Tommorrow looks pretty poor with two jumps cards and all on ATR, time for a day off I think!

I find leaving in the money from Tuesday's winnings to cover the Premium Charge to be taken on Wednesday has much lesser impact as that way I just start Wednesday from my usual balance starting point and don't have any negative feelings like you describe.

As for today I have found it absolutely brilliant, my best day for some time so it must just be down to style. As for the week so far I have found it very good - just a bit annoyed I am away from Friday to Monday

Nope mainly a scalper but I will do anything that turns a profit. I don't really buy into the Swing v Scalping argument as there is a HUGE middle ground that neither covers but if I had to go for one or the other I would say Scalper as most of my profits are one and two tick trades.
