Yes I think it it. For me it has been a waste of time, made nothing but lost nothing. Going to call stumps on it and do something else with what is left of the day.

Very nice p&l Andy but that's before minus the 60%!Must have a 6 figure bank for those p&l?

But still well done Betfair must love you.

No, I achieved them with a relatively small bank, probably smaller than a lot of others on here use. I don't see any need for a big bank on the horses unless you plan to manipulate the market as you just can't get big orders filled.

Got done what I wanted to earlier so decided to give the evening stuff a bash and have found it much better. Looks like one of our old friends is around which has helped.

That’s outstanding trading to get a p&l with a small bank.

Truly a great trader if not one of the best.

I still use the same sized bank as I did at the time I finished my blog if I remember correctly and I either near the end of the blog or shortly after halved my stake size and that led to a big increase in profits. I used to think the bigger the stake, the bigger profit which is true I feel to a point but then you hit issues, so, less often leads to more.

Kind words as well but I don't quite think I am one of the best, far far from it. I wouldn't mind being a quid or two behind Peter ;) Also I read somewhere something like the top 10 BF customers combined made more last year than Betfair did! That can never happen again!

It wasn't so long ago I used to make what I made on Sunday in an entire month and also wasn't that long ago I had my first £100 in a day, the hard work I put in has paid off but unfortunately the party is having to come to a premature end.

As for today, managed to do okay in the end despite a shocking afternoon where I made nothing. Thought the 2 evening meetings were pretty good but I think there are plenty of others out there that made a hell of a lot more than me today! So good but not great but thanks anyway for the kind words :D

Do you feel you have made the right decision? I have found today terrible so far and wish I had taken the day off but hindsight is a wonderful thing :)
I took the day off in the end!! The memory of past days like that was enough to scare me off - I definately think I remember it being rubbish the day after bank holidays before, just like on the saturday after Cheltenham, it makes sense that gamblers don't have so much money to play with.

I guess if anything this kind of shows a division of our different trading styles. Personally I like the kind of volume where prices get nibbled by small amounts, but in a fast way, which I suppose is punter's betting cash, as opposed to larger amounts jumping prices around and going straight through you to new levels, which I guess some people are better at reading an exploiting

Did you improve through having 'Aha!' moments, or was it a case of getting a better and better feel for the market through practice?

It was actually the top 70. :)

I suspect, btw, that the top earners are gamblers rather than traders. JollyGreen has mentioned previously that he knows guys who think nothing of staking 6 figures on a horse. I bet there are guys who regularly stake eye-watering sums of money, and have a decent ROI to boot...

Have not read your blog so don’t know your bank size, but if is below £5000 and your p&l is averaging more than 10% a day then that’s very good. As the game is a lot harder now then it was 4 years ago when 10% to 30% was normal.

A lot of people use this forum to massage their ego or self-importance. Which is something you (Andy) have not done!

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Me neither.

Is it still online, and if so what's the address?

The bank is below £5,000. As for the blog I deleted it but there is a link on this thread that may still allow some access to it in an archived version (Jeff you have posted on the thread btw ;)):

Ah, I see!

You'll have to write another blog, and lay bare the secrets of successful trading! ;)

You guys are amazing, I've tried my guts out with the trading, day after day for over a year, best I've ever been able to achieve with the trading is break-even. At least I'm not losing money trading any more , but that's little consolation. However, the records show that simply staking big straight punts on my selections would have yielded me huge profits. So I'm obviously still not a fan of the trading, like I said, seems you have to be able to run very very fast just to stand still (i.e., not lose any money).
