I hate it when he is around, you lose confidence in laying any favourite. The 14.30 fav, Frasers Hill, was an obvious lay, but I kept trying to back at what I perceived to be the top as the MB was around the previous races and what would've been a tidy profit (if I had did my usual strategy and layed) turned into a loss.

I wouldn't assume that he/her/it necessarily knows more than you. There's no evidence AFAIK that they have insider or expert knowledge of the horse they're backing...

And if they are lowering the odds and you're laying, they're doing you a favour. :)

Like Jeff said, sometimes he/she hurt you, sometimes you benefit from it...

Well they hammered Grandioso at Chepstow with big orders driving the price in. Mind you it was one of those where the price was likely to shorten so they did us a favour really.

IF and I do say IF this person(s) are playing with these large stakes then you have to assume they are either

a)Stupid
b)Shrewd and have a deal on blood money percentage.

A serious player would not bet so many horses and they definitely would not play if they were giving the robbers at Betfair 60%.....unless of course the correct answer is a)

In the immortal words of Chris Tarrant, can I ask the audience :?:

What about this possibility?

C. The person believes that there is value in backing drifters, and lumps thousands on drifting favourites.

If there's one jockey we can be pretty sure isn't up to anything dodgy, it's McCoy!

I know - I should have clarified. :)

That was a reference to Jollygreen's blood money theory (which may be right, but probably not in this instance).
