Premier League 2012/13

Football, Soccer - whatever you call it. It is the beautiful game.

People have been coming out with comments like that for many years, but they keep being proven wrong by events. Still, I can't complain - the naysayers can only help Fergie to motivate his squad and create a bunker mentality... ;)

Meh that's just a blip for Utd, their team once everyone is fit is pretty damn strong. It's also difficult for Fergie to compensate for so many defensive injuries for the opening game.

Playing Valencia at RB doesn't sit too well with me. I can see how you can utilize some of his qualities there and use him as a modern day attacking RB (Dani Alves being the obvious comparison) but I just think you restrict what was probably Utds best attacking player last season. It'll probably work a lot better at Old Trafford though.

I'm suprised how much the relegation and promotion markets have moved since the first set of games was completed. It's only one game in a loooooooooong season.

RVP didn't look very settled last night, but that will happen eventually.

I tried to get on Betfair to lay City in the winners market when I saw Aguero stretchered off, thought that was the type of thing that people overreact to. Betfair was down across all markets I think though

That's true, but Norwich have been well supported for relegation ever since Paul Lambert left. Their opening day performance doesn't inspire confidence for the remaining 37 games.

The promoted teams are often still riding a wave of euphoria, so tend to have good starts. Reading & Southampton had solid opening day performances, but it's way too early to pass judgement either way

Dad, Saints are winning.

Dad to kids, don't worry the ref will add 4-5 mins of extra time and United will win turn it around in that extra time.

Kids to Dad, OMG how did you know that would happen.

Dad, Always does.

Kids to Dad, Did you put a bet on it.

Dad, Of course.

i really like RvP as a player but hate ManUre (and Fergie especially) with a passion.

looks like it's gonna be another rubbish season for Liverpool.

Picked up Man Utd at 30!

Having been asked to look into late Man U goals and penalties etc, I have but a grudging acknowledgement for Utd. The problem I have with football is the money sloshing around. It's made the league a farce but for the top three.

Really enjoyed watching lower league football but dreading a season in the premiership. Especially with the start we have.

Two questions

1)Is there any decent resource i can go to to see who is playing who

2) Can guardian find high volume matches in a search

Keep missing the footie, have decent automation rules, just need to know when they are and load them up in guardian

The solution is simple then - learn to love Man U, and you won't feel conflicted! ;)

NEVER!

i have cheered them on in Europe in the past, but these days the top teams are 90% foreign anyway so i don't even do that now.

Zola has signed 10 players on loan from Udinese this summer - they are just a feeder team for the Italian club now. if i were a Watford fan i'd stop going.

Interesting for those that insist Ferguson is a serial winner due to the amount of money he spends - United are actually the fifth biggest spenders in the PL over the past decade after Tottenham, Liverpool, Cideh and Chelsea. http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-l ... -4billion-

For the record 14 of United's 29 man first team squad are British, still a healthy proportion compared to most of the Premier League.

it depends which market you want , match odds, correct score, if you go to soccer bottom left in guardian , click on search , move the mouse over the date of fixtures then right click , this will drop down a box ,choose which market, match odds etc etc then click, it will then move all markets for that day en masse to gaurdian.

after doing this i sort by volume , then delete the crap like womens soccer etc etc. then sort it by time , then add the automation .

There is no doubt he is a good manager in comparison to others. Moyes should be higher rated as well, he has performed miracles at Everton.
