Mugsgame,

The reason I started longshot horses is due to my following a traders suggestions on another site. Leaving aside the BA technical manual there does not appear to be a sports trading 'bible' ie. a manual specifically focussed on HOW to trade sports, so any trading 'blueprints' need to be tested in my view.
Having said that I will follow your advice and re-focus my energies on favourites for a few months.

thanks again
Jon

That's the trouble with this game, when your starting out you don't know who's advice to follow, most people claiming to make money on forums are simply fantasists from my experience :D ,

but there are some good peoples on here and in time you will work out which ones to trust.

the advice you received about trading long shots is pretty bad advice btw.

I think my reputation and credentials have stood up to the scrutiny of the Bet Angel masses over the years. I always give honest, straightforward advice and try to warn new traders what will not work and why.

Truth is I couldn't care less if they take my advice or not. But at least I have attempted to save them.

I agree that it's hard to know who to believe. That is why I am hard on obviously inexperienced traders giving poor advice to other inexperienced traders.

Amazing read this has been. I see that I am not my own afterall and many others when first startng out layed nags. This I am sure you will remember from some of my earlier posts is why I lost a lot of dosh and due to some lousy nut job who advised me to just lay the draw and watch the money roll in. This is obviously due to my lack of knowledge about betting never mind trading. I am now learning a more cost sensitive way in practise mode and small trades, and loving it. It is harsh, but sometimes nice to hear how a newbie or other has lost in the past the way I did coz then it makes me realise how I went so badly wrong and reminds me never to go there again. Every one has to start somewhere eh!

Yep i agree, it's kind of a vicious circle as by the time you work out who knows there stuff, you have probably already got to a point where you can start to profit,
that's what happened to me when i started years and years ago anyway and If i had of known who's advice to take i would have got there a hell of a lot quicker that's for sure :D .

In the end i worked it out for myself which i guess ultimately is what we all have to do in the end.
