to be honest its standard to suspend your account if you haven't voluntarily submitted the kyc stuff.

Its happened to everyone who has hit a certain level. I was furious when it happened to me because I had taken a week off work to trade!

Its unfortunate its happened to you during Cheltenham but submit the information they need and you will be up and running again fairly quickly.

So just to follow up on what happend.

I got contacted today by Betfair telling me that my betting strategy was to similar to an other account they knew about and therefore they suspended my account because they thought i was trying to cheat in commission. The other account however is an innactive account a family member has used. Last login was at least 18 months ago. He is no longer trading or using Betfair because he is running his own company and dont have time for it. Therefore i payed a fine and my account will be suspended for a week.

I dont even want to try to go against this. In my world its blown out of proportion. Whatever i write back or have tried to write back it isnt having any effect. So i am leaving the story here, take from it what you want.

Maybe you should post to this thread so it's kept up to date: -

I naively thought that BF would be more worried about the threat of Lads/BD, instead of continually chasing their own customers for ludicrous things like the linking of accounts and avoiding PC

Can i ask what you mean by you've payed a fine ?
A fine for what exactly ?
from what you have said they have linked your account to another family member, which unfortunately is pretty standard these days,

so are you saying you have had to pay extra higher rate P.C now the accounts are linked ?,
is that what you mean ? or something else.

I doubt it's a 'fine' as such , Jeff. It'll be the £1000 PC allowance given to all accounts, they'll claim that back as they state the accounts are one entity. Also they'd be after the any money owing from the 20%-60% bracket if he's in it from the linked account.

Yeah that's what i thought, but was just checking as he had used the word fine.
which made it sound like it was something different altogether, that i had never heard of before.
