If your good at trading i would suggest working part time and doing trading part time.

Full time traders are leaving for a reason.
I do part Time only, but i have full time hours split into part time hours

Let me ask you a frank question.

What are you going to do differently in the future to what you have done in the past in order for you to start being successful?

If your optimism is based on a vague sense of 'I think thinks are improving', I would say that you need to properly address what has fundamentally changed. Is it your staking, is it your approach to finding value, or is it your self-discipline, or a combination?

I wish you luck Marc.

For what it's worth, I wasn't being funny when I asked you what has changed. As I'm sure you will appreciate, changing destructive patterns of behaviour is difficult, and involves asking oneself tough questions. Part of the mind wants to believe that everything is rosy in the garden and that this time it's different (regardless of whether that's true or not). Us humans are very good at self-deceit...

I look forward to reading your book. :)

Marc, I was recently speaking to an ex pat restaurant owner about alcohol who told me that he was an alcoholic for over 20 years but 'cured' himself of his addiction overnight by using a plant called 'iboga' and in the 8 years since taking it just once no longer craves alcohol at all. Sounds far fetched maybe but he was a smart guy and his wife was there cooberating the thing. According to him it reset his brain.

Obviously I don't know much about it and would need a lot of research but might be worth looking into if you're interested.

Something else worth trying is meditation and mindfulness. Meditation is proven to help with addictions, and it can also help you come to terms with mistakes you may have made in the past.

I like to drink everyday to, maybe about 4 or 5 pints of beer which makes me an alcoholic to.

I think it doesnt matter aslong as it doesnt affect other peoples lives like your family and your work.

I'd speak with my doctor if I were you. You may be damaging your body without realizing it.

I was reading a book a while back - http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Chimp-Parad ... 009193558X - which argues that willpower doesn't work. It says that, just as an real chimp is several times stronger than you, so is your inner chimp - the part of your mind that causes you to act irrationally - so you need to find other outlets for it. For example, if you drink to cure boredom (I don't know if you do), a solution would be to get a hobby that's really interesting, and throw yourself into it whenever you feel like having a drink.

You're a big believer in Brian Tracy's teachings. What advice do you think he would give you?

Is this a trading forum or an aa meeting?

If convoysur likes to drink thats up to him if he wants to stop he'l stop.

I hate it when people want to stick there noses in and try and save the world.

I don't like your tone.

Anyway, psychology is an extremely important part of trading.

I lost my best friend to suicide. Had I stuck my nose in and tried to save the world, I might have realized what he had planned and talked him out of it.

I'll carry on sticking my nose in and trying to save the world.
