According to what I’ve heard from people who do that, if you only do the bonus offers, they still close you down. The only way to fly under the radar is to place a few mug punts every week and lay them off on BF. Sounds like too much effort for little reward to me, but thousands do just that apparently.

I know people who are showing a loss with a bookmaker and have still been restricted.

They just do not like people finding value wether you are arbing or using bonuses or whatever i dont think that matters.

Just dont find yourself an edge and they are happy to take your money , Find one and your gone ;)

That doesn't work unfortunately, they still nail you even if you do throw in a few mug bets, worst one has to be Stan James, I think my account lasted about 4 bets

Hi Michael I've been a full time sports arbitrage trader for about 10 years now so I think I've used every service there is I've even tried writing my own program but that didn't go so well.
http://www.arbitragepro.com/ is by some distance the best service although not as good as it used to be,I also use http://www.sportspunter.com/sports-bett ... sure-bets/ which is half the price and throws up some good arbs but has a less useful interface.
Tried RebelBetting but was unimpressed as for SportsArbitrageWorld that's chapter in it's own right which I best not discuss here.
The hay days of arbitrage are long gone however they are still good profits to be made, using UK books is a non starter I don't have any accounts with those .I only use Asian and offshore books.I've never been restricted by an Asian book and some offshore do limit but not restrictively.
I really can't see any developments happening soon in arbitrage the markets are more efficient than they used to be and prices too similar.
I do know people that shop arb but that is a poor use of time if you ask me although the % profit is higher,if you want anymore info just send me a message.

Thanks for your helpful replies everybody - it has given me a greater idea of what lines of research to pursue.

In addition to sports arbitrage and trading platforms discussed in the thread, I have come across some services that appear to offer data/'intelligence' that help people trade in sports betting.

One is SmartOdds - has anybody heard of that? I tried contacting them for a week and finally yesterday they declined to speak with me. Another is Stratagem and again they are proving reticent.

Has anybody used these kind of services? What do they actually do? How do they compare in functionality to trading platforms?

Thanks again for your help.

Regards,

Michael

See below Michael Pooler's FT article on sports arbitrage, if not come across already:

Peter you seem to be every where nowadays with BF & even FT.

BTW does anyone use RebelBetting?
