Is horse racing entering the final furlong?

The sport of kings.

so racing is too complicated for the masses these days? horseshit. the complexity of racing is one of the things that attracted me to the sport in the first place - I wanted to find out how it worked and what everything meant, that was what made it more interesting.

you can't blame racing if today's current generation of young people (the most subservient, brain-washed, sheep-like bunch ever) are more concerned with who wins bloody X-factor, that's society's problem. i went to York for the Juddmonte last week and, walking back over the Knavesmire into town, there were loads of teenage buskers singing - it was like the first round of Britain's Got No Talent.

racing will have to adapt to life after the levy, but i'm sure it will find a way to survive because it's a great sport with a unique offering and wonderful history.

I think there are many reasons for the demise of Horse Racing, but as I suggested earlier, the biggest danger to the sport are those that actually run the sport!

They are in denial, they live in the past, and they hate the thought of change

the bookies don't help themselves though LeTiss as they do little to promote the sport in mainstream media.

like someone said earlier, the Betfair Ad with an Octopus playing table tennis - what's that all about?!

a few years ago when we had the "Dual on the Downs" (Frankel vs Canford Cliffs in the 2011 Sussex Stakes at Goodwood for those too young to remember!!) and Racing UK did a great job of building the excitement with promo vids etc., but the bookies should have been promoting it all over non-racing TV.

a TV programme every night showing the hightlights of the day's racing on a mainstream channel (and presented by a hottie like Emma Spencer) would be a great thing!

It's confirmed! bookmakers are a joke.

Even Hitler is having trouble getting his bets on :D

This is really funny, but you might want to pause along the way to catch the text
