Hope it's nothing to do with this:

http://techcrunch.com/2011/09/22/anonym ... r-attacks/

... that said Betfair are not a US company, so hopefully not.

It does smell like a DDOS attack or something network related though with the high latency.

True, but as our Prime Ministers tend to get into bed with the US when it comes to foreign policy, I'm not sure we'd necessarily be immune...

Are they going to get things back to normal in time for the Group 1 at 14.35???!!!!!!

Interesting to see the volumes with the site working and api not - will give some idea as to how much traders contribute!

Perhaps Euler might have last years figs so we can compare?

yeah they also made promises about improving communication to users when there are problems... site currently says no problems and nothing on twitter either.

Settle down for an afternoon betting and this!!!
I was offered, and accepted a job three months ago and I'm glad I did.
This just brings back bad memories. Betfair are definately blowing it.

Are BF even aware of the API being screwed? No word from them = useless and a disgrace!

Thank you for your e-mail.

I can confirm that the API is currently down and we are investigating. You can place bets via the phone or www.betfair.com at this moment in time.

I do apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Kind regards,

680k matched before the off in the G1 at 14.35 - half what you would expect surely?

Thats a hit for BF. (and a "Kerching" for bdq maybe)

This reinforces the need to have have BA Betdaq upgraded to have similar, if not all features, to Betfair. I have a feeling API connection to BF is not going to go away and we're likely to similar crashes in future. Shame it happens right bang in the middle of Saturday afternoon.

It has been upgraded! Download the latest version and see.

Betfair still feels dodgy to me, so be careful if you are still playing on Betfair.
