This week's BBC Panorama programme on PPE featured 5 NHS doctors - ALL have been revealed to have a history of left-wing political activism.

The BBC's code of conduct obliges it to disclose ‘Contributors’ Affiliations’, but it seems they forgot.

KS seems to have been taking a less adversarial approach but he may be taking it too far.

Read the post from Kieran, I was going to say something similar. I didn't watch the program but there's not much point in criticising the evidence givers while ignoring the evidence. The real issue is, are their claims true?

I'm really quite confused by the care home reporting/testing/PPE levels etc.
We've had several weeks (months) advanced notice of this situation, thanks to China/Italy/Spain but we're still on the same trajectory as Italy/Spain. I realise people will point to different reporting strategies, but for me the care home/home deaths are astonishing. I remember weeks ago someone on here talking about this being a cull of the old and dismissed it as ridiculous. We would never allow that, would we?
But now that view seems all too horribly accurate.
Hopefully, people will keep staying home and distancing and being hygienic, otherwise the govt won't relax anything.

It's a sad fact that homeless people freeze to death every winter and JSA/ESA/UC claimants take their own lives after being sanctioned or spending weeks waiting for money, but the government doesn't even acknowledge it, never mind care. Don't know about elderly people but like the aforementioned, they don't pay tax and don't appear to be a major concern to the government.

Not all countries have been reporting the death rates correctly, especially in care homes and hospices.

In Italy and Spain several care homes were visited by the police who found all the residents dead and the support staff missing. They had basically been left to die with no medical help.

I imagine at some point there is going to be criminal proceedings against certain people, companies and even governments.

Big hint from Boris about the imposition (advice) about the general wearing of face masks.
That cheeses me off.
As a spectacle wearer i know the plume of breath that spurts out from a facemask.
Perhaps it means breath is projected 1 metre rather than 2 metre.
But until all people that REALLY need PPE have them we shouldn't provoke people into panic-buying something that is irrelevent in a properly observed social-distancing/hygienic environment.

When the guy behind you in the queue sneezes you'll be glad he's wearing a face mask. ;)

I've seen people playing with their phones, chewing their nails and the grabbing a trolley (ignoring the sanitisation station). Every face mask could potentially be a sink of virus due to people wearing the same one, day in day out, under the illusion that its a competent barrier.
It isn't.
Social-distancing and hygiene are highly effective!

I believe in face masks after seeing how almost universally they are worn in South Korea, Hong Kong & Singapore. I was wearing mine 6 weeks ago, have not ventured out without it. That will continue.

South Korea had/has a leading trace/test/isolate strategy. (Forget China their figures look like pure invention now).
It's bugger all to do with masks. Think about it!
If you observe social distancing and hand washing and breaking the link between sources of infection ie stuff and your face.
Germany did the same as South Korea.
Face masks as a solution is bollocks.
