Today's Horse Racing
This is a topic that is vastly underratted imo and is worthy of its own thread and video. In recent years it is an area I have focused on more and try to improve on. A particular area is sleep. There have been some excellent books recently about sleep that are worth reading. Sleep is probably the most effective medicine available and doesn't cost anything but is thoroughly negelected by individuals and the medical profession.
A lack of sleep is in my experience a thing people like to show off about to show just how busy they are. For example at Christmas as a family a parent made a comment about how tired they were after the kids woke up so early due to Father Christmas, to which was replied, all you do is sleep, you have must sleep for at least 8 hours I don't have time for that I am so busy with work and everything else I have to do, no one needs more than 6 hours and I should be so lucky to get that. I seem to remember Peter himself tweeted not so long ago about how little sleep he 'needs'.
Having read around the subject more in the last 12 months I have increased the amount I sleep considerably however I have one area of sleep that is really bad for me and that is my weekly session on the Oz racing.
It is worth exploring the subject of sleep and the huge health impacts a lack or a consistent lack of it can have on you in the future. Most people can 'train' their bodies to function on just a few hours of sleep a night, wasn't it Maggie who said she only needed 4 hours, but there is a huge difference between what you think you need to function and what you actually need.
There was a thread on 'Sleep' started/continued from another a few years ago has some interesting postsPDC wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 11:19 amThis is a topic that is vastly underratted imo and is worthy of its own thread and video. It's very helpful to be on top form to trade well, so I'll often prefer to not trade if I am feeling unwell.eightbo wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 5:18 pmPeter, seeing as you have a cough, I thought it'd be interesting to hear your thoughts on health vs. trading — how it affects your performance.
do you begin by giving things a go if you're unsure or do you have some form of criteria to determine if your 'trade-fit'?
It's like anything. If you want to perform at the highest level you need to a sharp as a razor. It doesn't mean you should stop completely, but you will unlikely to perform at your best. In a tricky market that's tough.

Annoyingly I completely missed the 15:25. Must have been mid 3s quite early
