Ascot and Haydock have been pretty good today. Got stung at Wincanton, the only other market I traded.

I think a few got stung at Haydock looking at the news today:

Awful to see, in the news more and more often now and can happen anywhere, remember Royal Ascot last year!

It's always drunk supposed 'men'. It's immature and pathetic.

Shocking, but it does remind you that these incidents are extremely rare on racecourses.

As a % it happens extremely rarely however just this weekend talking to non racing people the perception is starting to be the exact opposite, that it happens a lot. The people I was talking to who know what I do brought up the topic saying they had seen 'yet another' report of fighting at the races and then went on to say how there is no chance they would take their young family racing anymore as it is just full of young lads getting pissed up.

Racing needs to be very careful with its perceived reputation into the future.

I did the same last night. Not the best of weeks last week but I decided I was OSing here and there and scalping unsuitable markets. More swings, steamers and drifters this week, hopefully.

Large field non novice handicaps whether hurdles or chases are my fave race to nab some profit on. On the other hand I despise maiden hurdles and NH flat races.
