Some great results there in the local elections, a sign of things to come :)

Not for the biggest share of the last election voters, that voted in the Tories.

It will be a real challenge for Rishi to get voters back on track over the coming months. I think he'll need some aggressive growth strategies and just a bit of luck.

Getting plenty of help from Labour as well... If the in-fighting which seems to have started continues though they are toast.

Kier is repelling the far left and that is how Labour wins elections, not by catering to the far left, if Jezza, Ash Sarkar, and Owen Jones are whining non stop about what Kier is doing with Labour then that means he's got one foot in number 10 already. Its exactly the same with Democrats across the water.

Don’t assume people will vote the same way in a local election and a general election. It’s a lot more complicated than that.

That's actually a really good point.

And as for Owen Jones... by golly he gets my back up every time he opens his mouth.

The Greens and Lib Dems might be a little deluded about corporate Britain and the realities of foreign investment in Blighty, as well as having far too narrow a political focus, but at least they are generally well-meaning.

Unlike so many of the far left that simply loathe and detest Britain and all we stand for. From the Empire we built, to the Commonwealth we maintain, the Rule of Law, and even our democratic values and freedoms. They simply hurl abuse and insult those whose opinions are not closely aligned to their woke agendas, claiming ignorance, hatred and bigotry in an attempt to cancel the silent majority who still exercise common sense and critical thinking and know wrong from right.

This is also very true.

Local personalities and causes are often far more influential for by-elections.

I know of several people locally who have voted Lib Dem, for the above reasons, but would never dream of letting them run the country.

Who are the same people who have had enough of the lies and incompetence, presumably.

President of Turkey resorting to handing out bread to voters. Perhaps the Tories will try that. They've created enough food banks. :)

Food banks are a cultural thing used by lazy bastards who are unwilling to better themselves.

They didn’t exist when I was growing up but back then there were far less snowflakes and most people knew what they had between their legs and if they needed more money got off their backsides and went and bettered themselves.

Personally, I refuse to pay for those tossers who can’t be bothered to help themselves.

Liz Truss visiting Taiwan!! :o

No doubt she'll have as soothing effect on the sensitive China/Taiwan situation as she did on the economy.

You must be on a different planet to the rest of us. Nurses aren't in a position to better themselves. They're working all day for not enough money to pay their rent.

Nadine Dorries: I'm not stupid, I want the deranged lunatic who gave us the biggest majority of a generation back as PM. [paraphased slightly]

its like the conservatives are on a mission to destroy themselves with the "christian democratic", "national" & "it's all Rishi's fault" initiatives.

The 1st one being particularly worrying based on the American loony right American model(s) and the last is just stupidity.

Hopefully an election will weed out the dross but the electorate desperately needs better alternatives if they don't want to vote labour.

They should get a different job then.
