Just got off the phone to Betfair and received a message from them also: -

The API experienced a degraded service over the weekend which continues into today. You will currently experience an interrupted service for which we would like to apologise.

The cause of the issues are not clear at this point and our technical teams are currently undertaking a full root cause investigation.

We will post updates as they become available on the Service section of the Betfair forum and the API System Status.

To trade or not to trade - that is the question. Maybe betdaq small stakes. Hmm..

It started getting pretty sticky for me in that last race. Plus after the rule 4 it returned a different figure in the profit column to what it should have been, so obviously there are still problems

Be careful - Last API failure cost me a swing of £110 - was £60 (trading profit green), API went with less than 45 secs to go and Wolv went off on time - typical :(

Race went in play, API came back so closed out for still a profit of £33. Guess what, API close bet taken twice - then staring at red screen for £52 loss.

I have lost total confidence in the API now.
Switching to mode 1 until this is sorted out.

I think Betfair are embarking on a long-term strategy of getting rid of full-time traders.

Firstly Premium Charge, then offering multiple bets with terrible odds to mug punters, now messing about with API's

All big empires before their fall ( Roman, Byjantine etc) were begining to get more and more greedy (taxation to their people). I think this can easily aply to Betfair is getting more and more greedy year by year and the service provided is deteriorating instead of improving or at least is not improving as the money the company earns would let as think.

Seemed to be fine all afternoon for me - how did everyone else find the API?

Looks like they have cracked it:

Betfair Customer Services 01 Feb 17:21

"At 12:30pm today we made some changes to the Betfair API and it has remained stable throughout this afternoon.

We are continuing to monitor the API closely."

it froze on me approx less than 1 minute before the off first race. switched to mode 1 and staid with it for the rest of the card. rather dull day all in all.
