Interesting set up for the final ten minutes or so at the Hawthorns.

Man Utd crusing to a thumping win and City are struggling to break down West Brom. If they fail to win it will be equal on points at the top.

I really could do with something other than a draw at the Hawthorns. Got a nice result on the other two outcomes, but nothing on the draw.

Position Team P GD PTS
Full Premier League table
1 Man City 18 38 45
2 Man Utd 18 33 45
3 Tottenham 16 13 35
4 Chelsea 18 15 34

Would any of the people who were writing off Man U a few weeks ago like some humble pie?

Oh, and didn't someone say Chelsea were going to win it this season? ;)

True!

But it does feel good to be level on points with City, considering that they've spent about half a billion pounds more than us!

I had a go on the Chelsea match and they really need to improve. With better trading conditions I would be able to pull a better result, but it was worth the effort.

David Luiz is a class act, but is too young to be a world class player. Torres should pay back the ticket money supporters pay to watch him play! He really isn't into it is he?

Funnily enough, yes! :)

From 1992-97, you guys spent far more than us, but we got the far better results! ;)

We did spend more than you between 97 and 02, however:

Some interesting stats on club spending:

Given how much more money you and Chelski have spent in recent years compared to us, you both should be about 10 points clear of us!

Me too.

But remember that Fergie didn't win anything for the first 9 years or so that he was manager, so my guess is that the club wasn't overflowing with money in his earlier years with the club.

I think he was lucky that a bunch of guys including Beckham and Giggs happened to come out of the academy at roughly the same time. Perhaps the success they generated brought in revenue, both from winning competitions and from selling merchandise to our expanding fan base.
