Rant corner.... £5.10 a pint of Welsh made 4% Stella today at Uttoxeter my local track. Can't honestly get over it! Found a corner selling Thatchers in the end but what a sham. Obviously I know you pay over the odds but I won't be boozing again on course, I don't normally anyway. £5.10 for that dog w**k LOL

How was the racing on course? Crowds etc?

I normally go to Newbury every mid august but if its not the same atmosphere will be gutted.

Great atmosphere considering it was limited. Not really family friendly with the limitations but lovely to be back, bookies taking cash bets etc, great to see

I used to frequent Newbury when I lived in London. I hope they've replaced that grandstand. After the Bradford fire I always thought of that narrow winding staircase as a death trap.

I'm going out for a pub meal tomorrow but it's just one or two pints and then canned beer at home. No way would I sit in a pub all night at those prices.

Don't blame you mate. Tesco have Paulaner Helles bottles 3 for a fiver. ASDA have Budvar Czech Budweiser in 12 cans for £9. Don't need the pub anymore

Life hack - you can buy some cans from the supermarket, put them in your pocket and take them over to the tables outside the pub to drink. If anyone challenges you then you explain that you are an asymptomatic spreader and didn't want to risk infecting the staff with a virus by ordering a pint from them

I offered to buy one of my neighbours a meal down the pub. The flipping wally phoned to say he's gonna be 90 minutes late and thought I'd be happy to waste time waiting for him! I must be living in the wrong place. Why am I surrounded by so many flipping misfits?

got a re-quote to replace a section of our roof last week. due to material shortages, the cost has almost doubled in the space of 15 months!!
