The gobby 20% at either left/right extreme aren't the battleground as they are set in their ways. Elections are always decided by the quiet thoughtful middle ground.superfrank wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 4:01 pmNothing shy about Labour voters. They tend to be self-righteous and hence pretty vocal in my experience.

The pubs are full of them wobbling around stuffing pints of poison in their bloated bodies and eating crap. If adults acted like adults instead of overgrown babies we'd save billions.
2.5 weeks to go. Plenty of time for more information to emerge.
Too early to call it? So the odds define the caution. Peronally I think a Tory majority is nailed on. Lot of people fed up of the whole Brexit thing. Voting Tory or Lib is the only way to avoid yet more prevarication.
Having said that, anyone that thinks its all done if we leave under Johnson's plan is deluding themselves. The effects of Brexit will rumble on for decades. Look at the aerospace debacle between the US and EU, 15 years of wrangling and tit for tat tariffs. These are serious issues and serious people negotiating them.

Lab only need another 5-6% in the polls to get a hung parliament again if the pollsters have made the same errors as last time which looks likely given the turnout models most are using

As a sign of the support Labour will get, I've voted for them for 36yrs (this is my 10th GE) ....not this time.
In fact, the bigger the defeat we have, the more chance we'll have of getting rid of that muppet. He even manages to make the sensible ideas sound stupid, and you'll have to believe me when I say some of their ideas aren't actually as insane or as 'leftie' as he makes them sound. A 9 year incumbent, 3½yrs of failure to lead on Europe, a catalog of failed promises and untrustworthy Boris yet-another-Eton-posh-boy Johnson in charge. It should be an open goal and, well I give up.
Sorry it's a rant but when it's a rant about your own side then I hope it doesn't count as being antagonistic.
When Michael Heseltine won't vote Tory and Alastair Campbell won't vote Labour, you know everything is fckd. Where are business-minded remain Tories and the moderate Left supposed to go? Might be a lower than expected turnout with so many being politically homeless? Pointless voting here anyway, Tories hold my ward with >60% of the vote and a 19k majority, utterly utterly pointless, I'll probabaly just stay at home for the first time in 36yrs, and I'm not the only one I've heard say that.

...quite funny really, we used to have general elections every 4 or 5 years, and since the Fixed Term Parliament act in 2011 saying terms will be 5 years, we've had them every 2 years, 2015, 2017 & 2019.

Come to Scotland Shaun, plenty of room for me, you & the midges....
I find it bizarre that a lot of the labour manifesto items and the tories nurses bursary pledge have already been delivered in scotland as well as the lib dems free university education, yet they campaign as if its a national policy....
Think all they main parties will be reduced to a handful of seats between them in Scotland... and that's not because everyone in scotland supports independence (they will still vote no in a referendum) but they see a vote for snp as best way to show their contempt for the current incumbents...

The Manicfesto of the Monster Raving Loony Party will include;
We will Send Noel Edmonds to negotiate Brexit because he understands Deal or No Deal.
There will be no need for a backstop to the Brexit negotiations. We’ll have Alec Stewart as wicket-keeper.
Not sure about Alec Stewart, probably would use Kamran Akmal of Pakistan, known as butter gloves.
