Could have taken plenty on that race trading in and out of the winner for at least 10 mins after it had won the race, shame I didn't know what was going on.

Delays don't suit my trading, so I may call it a day there.

They play havoc with my martingale spreadsheet.

( :D Only joking, for the avoidance of doubt....)

I did OK today, neither day was anything special for me. But I'm keen to get as much practice in ahead of Royal Ascot. Need to dust that rust!

Haha, I did say I was joking!

But I do run some excel automations in play and it's a constant quandary over how long to restrict the refresh for after the start time to take into account delays like yesterdays.

Perfectly executed.

I reckon two minutes past start is about right, especially on a busy day, otherwise you risk bumping into another race, and if everyone else is focusing on that race instead then your modelling goes out the window. Especially in Australia and your race gets bumped to the Blue Channel.

There are plenty of races around, there's no need to hang onto one if the conditions are unusual.

ETA: as Euler says up-thread.

The usual Hugh Taylor influence.

Hugh or someone connected with Hugh/or at ATR, will always get the best early price (before tip issued) for a guaranteed green trade. Nice edge.

Few years ago I used to scrape -> place order and my latency was sub 0.3s but I was still seeing the best prices being taken on betfair a few minutes before, not sure if its still the case but someone was..

Someone's still hoovering up the early prices.

The flip side is to try and find the bottom of the range and get a reversal trade going.
