Today's Football
Wenger already has a new job at FIFA, head of global football development, I think they've made up a new title just for him.
Mourinho was the first name that popped into my head when I read the news about Poch
Jose seems absolutely desperate for a new job, any decent job will do at this point I think.

Wow. Thats a biggie. Poch has been brilliant. Who on earth is going to improve Spurs? And where is Poch off to?
Mourinho. No, surely not. Not the Spurs way. Attacking footbal is Spurs mantra. Mourinho is an obdurate defender, then attack on your own terms.
Inter weren't that great as a group but he did get the best out of them.
But Spurs aren't anything like that IMO (humble).

Rafa Benitez could be a good fit overall with the combination of experience, premier league knowledge/success.
Daily Mail had it spot on yesterday : https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footb ... enham.html

Boooooooooooo, boooooooooooooo

Indeed, those throwing Mourinho around will have forgotten that one of ENIC's/Levy's very first acts was to throw George Graham to the curb, at what by any standard other than his defensive style and Arsenal connections was an inopportune time. That said, horses for courses, and this is a different time. Lord knows, if the thinking could be to get him in to steady things for a year, two, maybe three, before something more long term. Hope not though, because that thinking didn't exactly work out that way for United.greenmark wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 8:23 pmWow. Thats a biggie. Poch has been brilliant. I have the utmost respect for what Mourinho has achieved, but I'm not at all convinced that such a divisive figure is what's needed right now.
I hope and pray you're correct, if the alternative is Mourinho. I'd just like someone who's not an unimaginative old guard choice, like him or Benitez.
I'd prefer Nagelsmann by a long shot for any number of reasons. Just cannot see him to be the type to leave a job less than half a year in, going on past stories about him, and RB aren't likely to want to look they can have their hand forced.
Actually, my choice outside the realms of realism would be Coudet from Racing Club. They're my favourite team to watch bar none and his style would be made for Spurs' squad, but him only having a short stint in Europe as a player, and only managing in Argentina and Mexico probably rules him out.
Overall, the weird thing is that nothing interim was announced and the next match is looming, so they must surely have something lined up. There's no one obviously at the club (like at all). Which would all suggest someone not at a club right now, or at the very least somewhere where circumstances dictate they might let the manager go. Maybe they've been able to convince Bournemouth. You'd think Bournemouth would allow Howe the move, given everything he's done and that he cannot really take them any further, so long as they get a decent amount. Maybe Napoli were easy to convince, given everything happening there now. And finally Scott Parker by all accounts still has a big, fat gold star next to his name at Spurs from his time both as a player and a coach.
So for me, Mourinho, Allegri, Marcelino, Hughton, Howe, Ancelotti, and Parker are the viable options, and Klinsmann or Hoddle PR stunt dark, dark horses. Anything else is just noise
If they keep guessing at stuff, then law of averages.....Kai wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 8:43 pmDaily Mail had it spot on yesterday : https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footb ... enham.html

I can hear John McDermott (in charge of the academy) screaming into a pillow from here
Years of hard work and a very close relationship with Poch down the toilet.

I cant help but wonder if Levy would of made these same decisions before they bought the stadium... i smell a little bit of panic, either that or there was a serious breakdown in the relationship between the two. Either way, let's see how long it takes before Utd fans start dreaming of Poch and chanting Ole out.

Jose's appointment makes the premiership interesting again, that's for sure. Was it the right choice? (No, Benitez would have been)
One thing in his favour is he tends to win something early on within his tenure. The Rumbelows, the FA Cup or a top 5 finish will be seen as a result this season. Next season?...that's what makes it interesting
