I don't think Peter's giving away anything that someone determined to win on Betfair wouldn't eventually come across themselves. Plus things like that take a large bank and a bit more effort to cover markets/stakes etc which is usually more effort most are willing to invest. Forums are full of people who know what to say , have read the right books etc but for whatever reason aren't actually making money so the majority of wise advice goes unheeded or questioned anyway.

I think the people that do take it onboard would probably have come to the same conclusion eventually so unless you've laid everything step by step it's really no big loss to your bottom line. I'd imagine most of us have been helped on our way with some useful advice somewhere along the way so it's always good to give something back, however little or cryptic.

In-running markets have picked up for me this month I'd say. There had been a significant downturn for me Jul/Aug/Sep though. I think my strategies might work on slightly different opportunities to you though, and of course I'd rather not go into details about what those opportunities are.

I'm actually quite surprised that you quite often post about the runners that you managed to profit on (either on this thread or the fat fingers one). Are you not worried that you're encouraging others to seek out similar opportunities and therefore eventually compete and make it harder to get matched?

On a slightly different but related note: I think the forums are a funny thing. On the one hand experienced members want to help others out, but on the other hand the markets are a zero sum game, and it's not in anyone's interest to give out hard earned secrets or other information without risking cannibalising themselves.

As much as I want to do more, unfortunately the best I can do is just to wish people luck. Tell them that profits are possible, but they just have to work hard on it themselves.
Hi X
When I first started on here, I segmented the market odds and used different tactics/strategies on those segments. However I dont limit my strategies to these odds regions. I do tend to post a lot of winners that have reached high or low odds.I don't know why, but they tend to be the sweetest. Its no secret that there are lots of low losing horses and high winning horses every day (I almost guarantee there will be some tomorrow and the day after). Its a different matter trying to catch them. So yes, I suppose in theory its adding competition, but you could say the same about pre race (how easy does that seem...until you try it!)
Over the years Ive had some really nice wins at extreme odds but the majority of my P&L isn't from these outliers. The majority are 5 pound here, 10 pound there..boring if I posted those screen shots.
I think Spreadbetting has it right..I think the pro's and those determined to look in these places are already doing so. You just have to keep one foot in front.
I would say that during this last twelve months, I feel like Im still putting in lots of effort for reduced reward. Its still worth doing (how hard can it be setting up an auto in the morning and then checking each evening? One or two good results a month is enough) but I'm not getting the results I once did, but things change, in fact the only thing constant on Betfair is change! That's why I keep coming back.
Regards
Peter

I've been keeping an eye on the markets this week from afar but they haven't looked inspiring. I think I choose a good week to be away.
